In a scene straight out of a Hollywood romance, former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand pulled out all the stops for his breathtaking proposal to now-fiancée Kate Wright.
The couple were enjoying a sun-drenched getaway in Dubai when Ferdinand decided the time was perfect. He orchestrated an incredibly intimate and elaborate setup on a private beach as the sun began to set over the Arabian Gulf.
"He'd planned the most incredible proposal," a source close to the couple revealed. "The entire area was decorated with thousands of beautiful rose petals and countless candles, creating a truly magical and romantic atmosphere. It was utterly perfect."
Ferdinand's meticulous planning didn't stop there. Unbeknownst to Kate, he had hired a professional photographer to discreetly capture the entire moment. The stunning images show the exact second a shocked and elated Kate realised what was happening, with Rio down on one knee.
The 43-year-old football pundit presented Kate with a dazzling, custom-designed engagement ring, which she enthusiastically accepted. The pair have been inseparable ever since, sharing their joy with fans on social media.
This marks a new chapter of happiness for Rio, who was widowed in 2015 following the tragic death of his first wife, Rebecca Ellison, from cancer. Friends and family have expressed overwhelming joy for the couple, praising Kate for her incredible bond with Rio's three children.
The couple have not yet announced a date for their wedding, but are undoubtedly enjoying this special period of their engagement, which began in the most dreamlike way possible.
