Ricky Martin's ex Jwan Yosef reacts to Milan dinner with actor

Ricky Martin's former spouse, Jwan Yosef, has playfully engaged with the singer's latest social media activity, commenting on a post featuring a younger actor. The interaction offers a glimpse into the famously amicable relationship between the ex-couple, who separated over two years ago.

A Cheeky Comment from an Ex

On Sunday, the 54-year-old global music icon shared two photographs from Milan Fashion Week. The images showed him at a pre-show dinner for a Giorgio Armani event, seated next to 24-year-old actor Hudson Williams, known for his role in HBO's sexually-charged hockey romance-drama series Heated Rivalry. Martin captioned the post: 'Pre-show dinner in Milan. Good food, better conversations, excellent seat neighbor.'

The post quickly attracted attention, particularly due to a comment from Martin's 41-year-old ex-husband, Jwan Yosef. Yosef, an artist, wrote 'I'd watch this show,' accompanied by a popcorn emoji, implying playful intrigue about the dinner companions. Williams himself replied, 'Fabulous conversation.'

Navigating Separation with 'Love and Dignity'

Martin and Yosef publicly announced their decision to end their marriage in July 2023, after being together for approximately seven or eight years. The pair, who wed in 2017, share two children: daughter Lucia, seven, and son Renn, six. Martin is also father to 17-year-old twins Matteo and Valentino, born via surrogacy in 2008.

In an interview with Telemundo in August 2023, Martin revealed that the split was a carefully considered decision, planned since before the pandemic. 'When the public found out, we had already gone through a grieving process,' he explained. The singer cited 'irreconcilable differences' in divorce filings but has consistently emphasised the respectful nature of their separation.

'Jwan and I will always be family,' Martin stated. 'We have two children that we are going to raise together... We look into each other’s eyes and smile, we hug each other, and we go through the ups and downs, we cry together, and we laugh together.' He noted that their children never witnessed any fights between them.

A Blueprint for an Amicable Divorce?

The Livin' La Vida Loca star described the divorce proceedings as 'much easier' than anticipated, crediting their measured and calm approach. In fact, he even suggested to Yosef that they should write a book on how to divorce properly.

Their joint Instagram announcement in summer 2023 perfectly captured their ethos, stating they had 'decided to end our marriage with love, respect and dignity for our children.' While Martin has expressed openness to future romance, his current focus remains on maintaining a strong, cooperative family unit with Yosef for the sake of their young children.
