In a definitive statement, singer Peter Andre has closed the door on expanding his family any further, confirming he will not be becoming a father for the sixth time.
Andre's Family Life and Clooney's Influence
The 52-year-old 'Mysterious Girl' performer is already a father to five children. With his ex-wife, model Katie Price, he shares son Junior, 20, and daughter Princess, 18. Since marrying doctor Emily MacDonagh in 2015, the couple have welcomed three children: daughter Millie, 11, son Theo, nine, and their youngest, 21-month-old Belle.
The topic arose after Hollywood actor George Clooney, 64, who became a father to twins Alexander and Ella at the age of 56, recently remarked on how becoming a dad later in life was 'easier' for him. This prompted Andre to reflect on his own situation in his column for new! magazine.
'I Am Done at 52'
Andre made his position crystal clear, stating he is entirely content with the size of his family. "George Clooney has been talking about how it was easier for him to become a dad later on in life - and for some people it is," he wrote. "Some people want to get a lot of their career done and then focus on children."
He continued, explaining his personal perspective: "I felt at the right age to start having children. I could have waited a bit later, but you mature more as you get older and I’m happy with the amount of kids that we’ve got. I’m done at 52, I am happy with my brood!"
Past Comments and Family Legacy
This firm stance follows more ambiguous comments he made shortly after Belle's birth. When asked by Woman magazine about future baby plans, he initially exclaimed, "No! Please don’t say that." He then added, "But I said I wouldn’t have a fifth. Then again, you never know. But it is up to Emily, isn’t it, not me. But no, I don’t think so."
Andre also touched upon his own family history, revealing his 91-year-old father is one of 12 children. "I said to Dad, ‘I’m really keeping it going. We’ve got two boys, and two girls and I have no idea what's coming'," he shared, highlighting the contrast with his own decision to stop at five.
Meanwhile, George Clooney elaborated on his experience of later-life fatherhood to The Times, stating, "But look, it’s easier for me. I had kids very late and so I could spend more time with them. But when you’re young? That’s hard!" Clooney and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal, welcomed their twins on June 6, 2017.
