The wedding of Olympic champion Adam Peaty and celebrity chef's daughter Holly Ramsay was a day of high glamour, even higher security, and underlying family tensions, with one guest comparing the meticulously organised ceremony to a 'hospital appointment'.
A Ceremony Under Strict Security
The couple tied the knot on Saturday 27th December 2025 at the historic Bath Abbey, emerging hand-in-hand to cheers from large post-Christmas crowds. With a star-studded guest list including Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham and their children, presenter Dan Walker, and Dragon's Den star Sara Davies, organisers took no chances. All guests were required to wear special wristbands embossed with 'H&A' for access, a measure that prompted the unusual comparison from one attendee.
Security was exceptionally tight, with burly guards escorting many attendees, including the groom himself, into the venue. The situation reportedly 'descended into chaos' at one point when bodyguards formed a protective cordon around the Ramsay family, leading to a skirmish in a confined passageway beside the Abbey.
Family Absences and a Late Arrival
The day was not without its hitches. The bride, wearing a Christmas-themed gown, arrived almost 30 minutes late for the service. More notably, Adam Peaty's parents, Caroline and Mark Peaty, were absent from the wedding following a bitter fallout over aspects of the nuptials.
Caroline Peaty, 60, had spoken out ahead of the day, telling the Mail: "I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out." The tensions are thought to have escalated after she was not invited to Holly's hen party at Soho Farmhouse last month, an event which included the bride's mother, Tana Ramsay, and Victoria Beckham.
Despite the rift, Caroline sent a card and gift to her son for his 31st birthday, which fell on his wedding day. Adam's aunt, Louise, also reportedly sent him a harsh text message about the family feud moments before the ceremony.
A Lavish Celebration and a Confident Bride
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a lavish wedding banquet featuring prawn cocktail, beef Wellington, and pan-roasted halibut, followed by a tarte tatin. A traditional wedding cake was served at 8pm.
Body language expert Judi James analysed Holly's entrance, noting she looked 'confident and radiantly happy' and in 'full control of her image'. She walked into the church with her father, Gordon Ramsay, her dress artfully concealed under a silk cloak.
While the day was one of celebration for the newlyweds, marked by the presence of close friends and family like bridesmaids Megan and Tilly Ramsay, the stringent security and unresolved family discord painted a complex picture of one of the year's most talked-about celebrity weddings.
