Former Love Island sensations Olivia and Alex Bowen have officially introduced their newborn son to the world, sharing intimate details about their unique parenting journey and the story behind their baby's distinctive name.
The Big Reveal
The couple, who found love on the hit ITV2 reality show in 2016, welcomed their first child together earlier this month. After keeping fans in suspense, they've now disclosed that they've named their bundle of joy Abel Jacob Bowen.
"We just fell in love with the name Abel," Olivia explained during an exclusive chat. "It's strong, biblical, and really stood out to us from other options we were considering."
Modern Parenting Approach
The Bowens are embracing a thoroughly modern approach to co-parenting, with Alex already proving to be a hands-on dad. "Alex has been absolutely incredible," Olivia gushed. "He's taken two weeks off work and has been doing all the night feeds while I recover."
She added: "I'm exclusively breastfeeding, so Alex will bring Abel to me during the night and then take him away to settle him afterwards. It's been such a team effort."
Social Media Boundaries
In an era where many celebrity parents share every moment online, the Bowens are taking a different approach. They've decided to keep their son's face off social media entirely.
"We want to protect his privacy and let him choose his own path," Olivia stated. "While we'll share glimpses of our journey as parents, we believe his digital footprint should be his decision when he's older."
From Reality TV to Real Life
The couple's journey from Love Island contestants to married parents has captured the hearts of their fans. Since leaving the villa, they've built a successful life together, including their 2022 wedding and various business ventures.
"Becoming parents has been the most natural transition for us," Alex shared. "We've built such a strong foundation over the years, and now we're excited to embark on this new chapter together."
The new parents are currently enjoying these precious early days as a family of three, adjusting to their new routines and cherishing every moment with their son.
