Chris Noth Criticises Sarah Jessica Parker Over Response to Assault Allegations
Noth Slams Parker Over Assault Allegation Response

Chris Noth has publicly addressed the breakdown of his relationship with former co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, directly criticising her response to the sexual assault allegations made against him. The actor, best known for playing Mr. Big in Sex and the City, revealed the friendship is now over in a candid new podcast interview.

Noth Labels Cast Statement as 'Brand Management'

In a preview clip from the upcoming episode of the Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson podcast, Noth did not mince words about Parker's actions following the allegations that surfaced in December 2021. "We're not friends, I think that's pretty obvious," Noth stated bluntly to host Robinson.

He specifically targeted the statement released by Parker and her co-stars Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis after his character was killed off in the first episode of And Just Like That..., the Sex and the City revival series. "The statement that they put out—which was nothing more than brand management, really—I don't know, it was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising," Noth explained.

Allegations and Aftermath

The controversy stems from December 2021 when two women accused Noth of sexual assault in alleged incidents said to have occurred in 2004 and 2015 respectively. These claims became public shortly after Noth returned to the spotlight with his cameo appearance in And Just Like That.... Noth has consistently denied all allegations against him.

Following the character's dramatic exit from the series, Parker and her co-stars released a joint statement on Instagram expressing support for the accusers. "We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth," the statement read. "We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it."

Noth's Disappointment with Former Colleagues

Noth expressed particular disappointment that his former colleagues didn't reach out to him personally before issuing their public statement. "Because you need to call me and hear my side of this," he said on the podcast. "You've known me for many years, and we've worked [together] for many years."

He elaborated further, saying, "Before you make that statement, you know me, you've known me all these years, give me a call so I can give you the real scoop about this. And that didn't happen, and that was too bad."

Recent Social Media Controversy

Noth's podcast comments follow recent speculation about a feud between the former on-screen love interests, sparked earlier this month by a social media exchange. When Noth shared an Instagram post of himself working out in the gym with the caption "F&@k new years - LETS GO!!!!", one fan commented, "You mean f*** SJP & her award right? Lol," referencing Parker's Carol Burnett award from the Golden Globe Foundation.

Noth simply responded "Right" to the comment, though he later addressed the exchange in a follow-up post, describing it as "off-the-cuff slightly sarcastic" and calling the resulting discussion "a tempest in a teapot." He added, "It is not news. It is not worth all this discussion. It is a waste of time in a world there are more important things to worry about."

The public falling out marks a significant shift for the actors who portrayed one of television's most iconic couples—Carrie Bradshaw and John James Preston (Mr. Big)—across both the original Sex and the City series and its various revivals. Their professional collaboration spanned decades before the allegations and subsequent statements created this permanent rift in their personal relationship.
