Nicole Appleton and Liam Gallagher Reconcile as Friends After 13 Years
Nicole Appleton has disclosed that she and her former spouse Liam Gallagher have mended their relationship and are now on friendly terms, more than a decade after their acrimonious separation. The All Saints vocalist, aged 51, and the Oasis frontman, aged 53, tied the knot in 2008 but parted ways in 2013 following Gallagher's infidelity, which resulted in him fathering a daughter named Gemma with American journalist Liza Ghorbani. Their divorce was officially concluded in April 2014.
Healing from a Painful Breakup
In a recent interview on Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Spinning Plates podcast, Nicole admitted that the breakup was exceptionally difficult for her and their son Gene, who was merely 12 years old when Liam departed the family home. However, she emphasised that everyone now gets along harmoniously. Nicole stated, 'For a while now we all get on really well, Gene gets on well with his Dad, it's the best.'
Reflecting on the aftermath of the split, Nicole shared that she and Gene, now 24, found solace in each other's company. They would share a bed and watch Family Guy together nightly, creating a comforting routine during that turbulent period. She recounted, 'When Liam and I separated Gene was 12. He slept next to me. Him and I would sit next to each other and watch Family Guy every night, religiously. It was our thing, we'd both sleep watching Family Guy.' Nicole described Gene as her protector, noting that despite the challenges of his teenage years, he remained supportive, and they silently had each other's backs.
Family Dynamics and New Beginnings
Nicole, who now has a six-year-old daughter named Skipper with her husband, Meta executive Stephen Haines, expressed pride in Gene's growth. He accompanied his father on the Oasis reunion tour last year and is currently fronting his own band, Villanelle, with Liam attending a recent London gig to show support. Nicole praised Gene's influence, revealing that he encouraged her to reunite with her sister Natalie Appleton and release the new single Falling Into You.
She affectionately said, 'He's the sweetest boy. He's 24 but he's still my baby. I love him, like I could squeeze his guts with love. I'm so proud of him.' Nicole also highlighted Gene's adorable relationship with his half-sister Skipper, noting how he engages with her on her level, making their bond special.
Liam Gallagher has other children, including son Lennon, 26, from his first marriage to Patsy Kensit, and daughter Molly Moorish-Gallagher, 27, with Lisa Moorish. The singer is now engaged to Debbie Gwyther, marking a new chapter in his personal life.
