Casualty Star Opens Up About 'Tough' Filming for Tragic Character Exit

Actress Jasmine Bayes has spoken out about the emotional challenge of filming her character's heartbreaking exit from BBC's Casualty. The actress, who joined the medical drama earlier this year as Dr Kim Chang, saw her character die in the latest episode after a secret battle with an eating disorder.

In the episode, Kim was found unconscious at home by trainee doctor Matty Linlaker (Aron Juliu), who discovered a box of appetite suppressants and laxatives. Despite the rapid response of the helicopter medical team and colleague Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless), Kim suffered multiple organ failure and died after CPR failed.

Speaking in an Instagram video, Bayes said: 'Filming this storyline for Kim was tough. I was very aware of the importance of it. I knew that it's definitely a story that had to be shared.' She praised the show's research team and medical advisors for ensuring the storyline was told truthfully and respectfully.
