Nicola Peltz has taken the drastic step of turning off comments on her social media posts, as a very public rift between her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, and his famous family continues to escalate. The move comes after she was flooded with negative remarks from followers referencing the ongoing feud.
A Birthday Celebration Overshadowed by Family Drama
The actress, who celebrated her 31st birthday over the weekend, posted a series of images from her ballerina-themed party, organised by Brooklyn. In one Story post, she wrote of being "so grateful to start the New Year with these beautiful humans," alongside photos with her husband and her billionaire father, Nelson Peltz.
However, the celebrations were set against a backdrop of intense family discord. Last month, it was revealed that Brooklyn, 26, had blocked his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, as well as his brothers, Cruz and Romeo, from viewing his Instagram updates. This act has left his parents "heartbroken" and "reeling," according to sources close to the family.
Social Media Backlash Forces Comment Ban
As the fallout became public knowledge, fans began targeting Nicola's social media with critical comments. One post from 30th December, which simply showed her eating a snack, was met with a barrage of questions and jibes about the estrangement from her in-laws.
One follower pointedly remarked: "Hates her in laws, took their last name lol odd." Another showed direct support for David and Victoria, tagging them with a message of love. A third offered lengthy advice, urging Nicola to guide her husband towards reconciliation, stating: "Marriage joins families, not just two people."
In response to this influx, Nicola has disabled comments on her two most recent Instagram posts in an apparent bid to avoid further backlash and control the narrative around her personal life.
The Beckhams' 'Never Give Up' Hope for Reconciliation
While Brooklyn and Nicola spent Christmas and New Year with the Peltz family, David and Victoria Beckham remain desperate to heal the rift with their eldest son. In what was described as a "boldest olive branch yet," David shared a heartfelt New Year message on social media.
He posted a black-and-white photo with Brooklyn, captioned: "I love you all so much," followed by a red heart. Victoria reshared the snap. David also posted another picture with his wife and all their children, writing: "You are my life, I love you all, love Daddy. On to 2026."
A source close to the couple emphasised their unwavering stance: "David and Victoria will never give up trying to secure a reconciliation between them and their son. Nothing will change that, and they live in hope. He will always be their son." The family are reportedly still waiting to hear from Brooklyn as the new year begins.
