Millie Bobby Brown has unveiled a striking new hairstyle, marking a fresh chapter for the actress. The star debuted a chic, short bob as she walked the red carpet at the Joy Awards ceremony in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, over the weekend.
A New Era with a Bold Hair Transformation
The 21-year-old actress appeared to be embracing a new phase following the final season of Netflix's Stranger Things, which aired earlier this month. She swapped her signature longer red locks for a short, choppy bob, a dramatic change for the star who famously shaved her head for her role as Eleven.
On the red carpet, Millie commented on her transformation, stating, 'I feel like old Hollywood tonight. I just cut my hair into a very short bob, so I was like, "Okay, the sparklier, the better."'
Accepting the Personality of the Year Award
Brown was at the event to accept the Personality of the Year award. The Joy Awards celebrate influential figures from music, cinema, sports, and other fields who positively impact people's lives. For the occasion, she wore a stunning silver crystal mesh gown by Tamara Ralph, from the designer's Autumn-Winter 2025/2026 collection, complemented by elegant Chopard earrings.
During her heartfelt acceptance speech, she reflected on her career and profound personal changes. 'Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be in the creative world,' she said, thanking her parents for their unwavering support.
Reflecting on Family and Protecting Privacy
Millie spoke openly about her new role as a mother. She and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, 23, adopted a baby daughter in the summer of 2025, announcing the news last August. Her Stranger Things co-star Noah Schnapp is the child's godfather.
'I’m so honoured to have my own unit in my life,' she expressed. 'My family are my anchor, my husband is my sail, my team are my engine, and my daughter is my North Star.'
Despite her openness, Brown remains fiercely protective of her daughter's privacy. In an interview with British Vogue, she emphasised she has no plans to reveal her child's identity publicly until she is old enough to decide for herself. 'For me, it's really important to protect her and her story,' she explained.
The actress also confirmed she has officially taken her husband's last name, now going by Millie Bonnie Bongiovi. The couple, who married in May 2024, have both expressed their desire for a large family, with Millie describing Jake as 'the most amazing dad.'
