Meghan Trainor Spotted Post-Surrogacy, Opens Up About Family Journey
Meghan Trainor Seen First Time Since Surrogate Birth

Meghan Trainor has been photographed in public for the very first time since welcoming her third child, a baby girl named Mikey Moon, via surrogate this past Sunday. The 32-year-old pop sensation, best known for hits like "Lips Are Movin'" and "All About That Bass," appeared visibly emotional and makeup-free while engaged in a phone conversation in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

A Relaxed Appearance in Los Angeles

The singer was captured dressed casually in a coordinated pink jacket and leggings ensemble, complemented by white socks and trainers. Her long blonde hair was styled in loose curls, and she accessorised with fashionable pink-tinted glasses, completing a laid-back yet stylish look. This public sighting coincided with the premiere evening of her acting debut in Ryan Murphy's new series, The Beauty, which aired on FX.

Opening Up About the Surrogacy Decision

In a recent interview with People magazine, Trainor candidly discussed the family's decision to pursue surrogacy for their third child. "It wasn’t our first choice," she revealed, "but we had endless conversations with our doctors on this journey, and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family." The artist expressed profound gratitude for the medical option, emphasising that they are "forever grateful" for the opportunity.

Trainor and her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, 33, are already parents to two sons: Riley, aged four, and Barry, two, both of whom she carried herself. The couple announced the arrival of their daughter on Instagram on January 20, sharing heartfelt photos and a message of thanks to their "incredible, superwoman surrogate."

Advocating for Surrogacy Awareness

The proud mother has been vocal about normalising surrogacy as a valid path to parenthood. "I want people to know that surrogacy is just another beautiful way to build a family," Trainor stated. "It’s not something to whisper about or judge. It’s rooted in trust, science, love, and teamwork." She further highlighted that "every family’s journey looks different, and all of them are extremely valid," aiming to reduce stigma and promote understanding.

Trainor praised the couple's surrogate as "one of the most selfless, strong and loving people I’ve ever met," noting their strong connection throughout the pregnancy. "She gave us the greatest gift of our lives," the singer shared, appreciating the surrogate's responsiveness and care during the process.

Family Joy and Future Plans

The new parents are reportedly over the moon about their daughter, whose middle name, Moon, was chosen by her older brothers. In her Instagram announcement, Trainor expressed that the family is "enjoying our family time now" and filled with love for their newest addition.

Looking ahead, Trainor is preparing to release her seventh studio album, Toy With Me, scheduled for April 24 this year. This follows her recent personal revelations about health and wellness, including weight loss and surgical procedures. The artist has also spoken about her aspirations for a large family, expressing a desire for four children in a past essay for Today, despite acknowledging the challenges of modern parenting.

Reflecting on her career and personal life, Trainor told People last year, "Where I am right now is far beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of." She credited her growth in confidence over the past decade, from her early days as a teenage performer to her current status as a thriving artist and mother, embracing both her professional achievements and family milestones with gratitude and joy.
