Reality TV personality Matt Zukowski has made a series of candid revelations about his private life, including his infertility and the brief nature of his marriage to fitness influencer Tammy Hembrow. The former Love Island Australia star shared the personal details while appearing on Tuesday's episode of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in the Australian jungle.
"I Shoot Blanks": A Personal Revelation
During a conversation with fellow campmates, the 30-year-old was asked if he wanted children. Matt replied solemnly, "I can't have kids. I shoot blanks." He was then questioned about whether he and Tammy had explored fertility treatments like IVF during their relationship.
"So we were trying to, like, figure it out. We had made a call on that, but we didn't take it any further," Matt admitted. The couple had considered IVF options as a potential path to start a family together before their split. Tammy is already a mother to three children from previous relationships.
The Truth Behind the Seven-Month Marriage
In a further revelation, Matt disclosed that while their marriage was publicly known to have lasted seven months, the relationship had actually ended much sooner. "Publicly, it was like seven," he said, before confirming to a shocked campmate that they had split after just three months.
Matt and Tammy's whirlwind romance saw them get engaged in December 2022 after only three months of dating. They tied the knot in November 2023, but rumours of trouble began circulating almost immediately. By June 2024, the pair announced they were divorcing.
Moving On and Lasting Heartbreak
Matt has previously described the marriage as "scary," even comparing the prospect of entering the jungle to the experience. He also spoke on the Back to Reality podcast about the impact of his infertility on his dating life, stating he is upfront with potential partners about his condition.
"I'm not embarrassed by it. I'm not ashamed of it... it's obviously gonna be public knowledge now," he said. Since the divorce, Tammy has moved on with AFL star Bailey Smith. Matt has expressed feeling hurt by how quickly she moved on and has hinted that he was the one who ultimately ended the marriage.
