MAFS Bride Alissa Breaks Silence on Feud with Rival Bec Zacharia
Married At First Sight participant Alissa Fay has finally spoken out after viewers witnessed her intense clashes with fellow bride Bec Zacharia during the latest season of the reality television experiment. In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, the 33-year-old bride admitted that watching the drama unfold on screen has been a confronting experience.
Shocking Allegations and Behind-the-Scenes Rumours
Alissa revealed that she was particularly shocked to learn that Bec had allegedly been attempting to gather gossip about her while filming was still underway. During Tuesday's episode, a friend of Alissa's disclosed that Bec had been "running around town" trying to uncover damaging information about the bride.
"I was like, really? Why is this happening?" Alissa recalled of her initial reaction to the allegations. "Allegedly there were things going around about how I was still in love with my ex and other rumours being spread. It's crazy when I think about it. There were things being said and I wasn't really aware of the context behind it all at that time."
The Role of Private Group Chats
The bride explained that much of the speculation originated from private group chats between friends outside the experiment, which only added to the confusion surrounding the situation. "There was just a lot of noise," she elaborated. "When your friends are on a TV show, people talk. Everyone has group chats and people are trying to support their friends. But I know there were not nice things said that you can't really take back unfortunately."
Strengthening the Relationship Through Adversity
Despite the tension and external pressures, Alissa insists that she and her husband David handled the situation with remarkable maturity. She believes the drama ultimately brought them closer together as a couple. "David and I really showed up together as a unit," she stated proudly. "We never yelled, we never screamed. We approached things in a mature way. He just said, 'Hey Bec, what's the goal here?' and we tried to have an adult conversation about it."
According to Alissa, the ongoing rumours and outside interference could have easily derailed their budding relationship. "I feel like it definitely helped us grow stronger," she reflected. "But it is hard to build a relationship when there's so much noise going on around you. You've just got to remember to have each other's back and show up for each other."
Support from Fellow Brides
While viewers primarily witness the couples interacting during formal dinner parties, Alissa revealed that she leaned heavily on fellow brides Rachel Gilmore and Stella Mickunaite during the challenging period. "There's a lot of missing elements that aren't shown on screen," she explained. "Rachel and I were practically best friends at that point, and Stella was always there supporting me. They were holding my hand through a lot of it and I'm forever grateful for their friendships during that time."
Chaotic Dinner Party Atmosphere
Monday night's dinner party delivered one of the most chaotic group confrontations of the entire season, with tensions erupting between several couples simultaneously. Alissa described the atmosphere as "a very noisy table" where "there was a lot of s**t being thrown around."
She specifically noted that "we definitely saw a side of Juliette that had never been seen before. She was very angry and quite vicious towards Joel." Alissa also criticized how groom Teddy was mocked by other cast members during the evening. "Teddy gets a lot of love but honestly just let the guy have his teddy," she defended. "If he wants to cuddle a teddy at night or have his mum scratch his back, who cares? It was really mean the way people were coming for him."
Additional Cast Dynamics
Alissa suggested that fellow bride Gia was particularly quick to involve herself in the ongoing drama. "Gia loves the drama," she observed. "She loves being in amongst all the issues of people's relationships and she always has her opinion about everything. I think Gia's just Gia – she loves to be involved."
Upcoming Couples Retreat Drama
According to Alissa, tensions continue to simmer during the upcoming couples retreat, with particular challenges emerging for other couples in the experiment. "Rachel and Stephen definitely had a tough time on retreat," she revealed. "And Bec and Danny were going through it as well. Bec was definitely feeling a bit isolated there."
While remaining deliberately vague about her own relationship with David during the getaway, Alissa teased that viewers should prepare for additional twists and turns. "I can't say too much about what happens with David and I," she laughed. "You're going to have to wait and see."
Moving Forward and Potential Reconciliation
Despite everything that has unfolded on screen, Alissa insists she is ready to move forward and even hopes she and Bec might eventually clear the air between them. She revealed that the pair were supposed to confront each other on a special episode that never materialized. "I was meant to be on a stand episode with Bec and I'm really disappointed that didn't happen," she confessed. "I would have loved for us to sit on the couch together and really clear things up. I think it would have been very healing for both of us."
Instead, the bride says the most important lesson from the entire experience has been learning to leave the past behind. "No one's perfect," she concluded philosophically. "We all make mistakes and say things. I think we just need to move forward and try to be better."
