Influencer Lorna Luxe has made a poignant return to social media, sharing a heartfelt update with her followers following the tragic death of her husband, John. The businessman, who was 21 years older than Lorna, had been courageously battling stage four adrenal cancer since his diagnosis in April 2023. Lorna announced his passing on February 12, marking the end of their 16-year marriage.
A Heartfelt Message to Fans
After taking a period of absence from her online platforms, Lorna has now re-emerged to connect with her legion of supporters. The 43-year-old posted an update on her Instagram stories, set against a black background, expressing her gratitude for the outpouring of love and support.
"I'm checking in. I've been quiet on here, but I promise I'm reading your messages and comments daily. They're a real comfort," she wrote. "Thank you for being so kind and taking time to message me. It means more than you will ever know."
A Devastating Announcement
Lorna's return comes after she shared a heartbreaking tribute to John upon his death. "My beautiful, brave John died yesterday. I am heartbroken," she revealed. "We were together to the very end, at home, in our own bed and holding hands, which is exactly what he wanted."
She recounted their final conversation, where John, despite his suffering, focused on love. "The last conversation we had, I asked him how he was feeling, and he replied, 'rough but in love.' That was so him—to the point and choosing to put aside his fears to make me feel cherished and loved," Lorna shared.
A Long and Difficult Battle
The couple had kept their followers updated throughout John's treatment, with Lorna sharing moments of hope, such as when he went into remission in November 2023. However, in a tragic turn of events, the cancer returned in May 2024 and spread to his brain.
Before Christmas, John was rushed back to hospital with organ failure following a complication with his chemotherapy and fell ill with sepsis. Lorna was told to "prepare for the worst" in December 2025, but she remained hopeful, stating at the time that she knew he would recover. True to his determined nature, John was home in time for Christmas.
Facing an Uncertain Future
In an interview with Fabulous magazine, Lorna opened up about the emotional turmoil of their situation. "It's been quite scary because we don't know how long we've got... We don't know how long John is going to feel up for doing things, so we're running at a million miles an hour at the minute. We know we're on a timeline," she confessed.
The couple had been treating themselves to special experiences to make the most of their time together, adopting a day-by-day approach. "I don't make long-term plans," Lorna admitted. "Fundamentally, I'm probably going to be a widow at some point in my 40s, and that's a bit of a scary place to be for any woman."
After John's last hospital stay, he urged Lorna to get their "ducks in a row" financially, in case he wasn't there. However, she clarified, "We certainly aren't discussing funerals or anything like that, though. We are just not in that space."
Gratitude for Support
In her tribute, Lorna expressed deep gratitude for the medical care and family support they received. "John and I were so grateful to the district nurses who came daily to support us and make him comfortable. Anna was his favourite nurse, and the kindness she showed him was beyond—she was a real-life angel," she wrote.
She also thanked her mother for keeping her strong during the ordeal. Lorna concluded her tribute with a loving message to John: "John, you are a class act, and I will love you forever."
As Lorna navigates this difficult period, her return to social media marks a step forward in healing, surrounded by the comfort of her supportive community.
