Veteran British actor Larry Lamb has revealed he is in the prime of his life, declaring he has 'never been happier' at 77 years old. The EastEnders and Gavin & Stacey icon is embracing his golden years with a newfound zest and a refreshing perspective on being single.
In a candid and uplifting interview, Lamb shared that his contentment comes from a place of self-acceptance and peace with his past. He has been married and divorced twice—first to actress Susan Whitney and later to Allo Allo star Vicki Michelle. Rather than dwelling on what didn't last, he celebrates the family those unions gave him, including his children, actor George Lamb and daughter Eloise.
'I'm absolutely fine with it,' Lamb stated emphatically about his single status. 'I've had a couple of marriages and they were great. I've got two fantastic kids out of them. I'm not looking for anything else. I'm really happy with my life as it is.'
His philosophy is a powerful testament to finding joy in one's own company. He passionately believes that the key to happiness is not relying on a partner to provide it. 'You've got to be happy with yourself. You can't expect somebody else to come along and make you happy. That's not going to happen,' he wisely advised.
Now, the beloved actor is channelling his energy into his work and personal projects, proving that life after seventy can be just as dynamic and fulfilling. He recently participated in the Channel 5 documentary, Larry Lamb's Great Irish Escapade, showcasing his enduring passion for storytelling and adventure.
Lamb's positive outlook serves as an inspiring message about ageing gracefully, finding contentment within, and rewriting the narrative on what it means to be happy and single later in life.
