Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban Finalise Divorce Settlement After 19 Years
Kidman & Urban Finalise Divorce, Agree Custody & Finances

Hollywood star Nicole Kidman and country music singer Keith Urban have formally finalised the terms of their divorce, reaching a comprehensive settlement agreement just three months after Kidman initiated proceedings to end their 19-year marriage.

Swift Settlement and Financial Terms

Court documents, made public on Tuesday, reveal the former couple has moved with notable speed to resolve their separation amicably. In her initial petition filed on September 30, Kidman, 58, cited irreconcilable differences as the grounds for divorce.

The legally binding agreement confirms that both parties have waived all rights to child support and spousal support. This is despite both parents reportedly declaring monthly incomes exceeding $100,000. Each will be responsible for their own legal fees and expenses, and any remaining court costs will be split equally.

The divorce decree ensures that all property, including household items, vehicles, bank accounts, investments, and personal effects, is divided to mutual satisfaction, with each retaining what is already in their possession.

Parenting Plan and Custody Arrangements

A detailed parenting plan has been established for their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith, 14. Under the agreement, Kidman will spend 306 days per year with the children, granting her the lion's share of custody.

Urban, also 58, is allocated 59 days annually, described as 'every other weekend'. A hearing was held to formalise the arrangement, though Kidman waived her right to appear, having been spotted returning from Australia just the day before.

An Amicable and Private Process

The court filings suggest the pair, with the help of their attorneys, managed to hash out all details privately and without acrimony. They explicitly avoided a formal discovery process, which can involve interrogatories and demands for document production.

The decree states, 'each party indicates that he or she does not want to proceed with formal discovery... designed to discover assets and debts.' It remains unconfirmed whether a prenuptial agreement was in place, as such documents would typically be noted in the filings.

The separation, first confirmed in late September, reportedly stemmed from months of quiet separation and diverging paths due to work commitments, with the marriage beginning to unravel at the start of the summer. With this settlement, the divorce is essentially complete pending the formal signing of the final judgment.
