Former model Kelly Brook has spoken candidly about her time on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, insisting she has 'no regrets' following her dramatic exit, which included exposing the infamous 'milkgate' scandal involving campmates Aitch and AngryGinge.
An Emotional Jungle Reflection
Taking to Instagram on Friday, the 46-year-old star shared an emotional reflection on her jungle experience. She described it as perhaps the 'hardest thing' she has ever done, yet simultaneously 'the best'. Brook posted a sun-soaked snap from Byron Bay, Australia, where she is celebrating a belated birthday with her husband, Jeremy Parisi, and her sister-in-law.
In a lengthy caption, she wrote: 'Hiya!!!! It’s Meeeee! Just wanted to say we are currently enjoying our time in Australia and soooo excited to see who gets crowned King or Queen of the Jungle next week!!' She extended a huge thank you to voters and admitted the trials pushed her beyond her limits, leaving her proud of her achievements.
'I pushed myself beyond limits and am so proud of my time there and what I was able to achieve,' she stated. 'It’s a great bunch left in there and I went out when I was ready to go so no regrets!'
The Planned 'Milkgate' Revelation
Brook's exit was notably spiced up by her decision to reveal the truth about 'milkgate'. She, alongside rappers Aitch, 25, and AngryGinge, 24, had secretly consumed more than their share of milk bottle sweets won in a 'Deals on Wheels' challenge, misleading the camp.
However, Brook later admitted on the spin-off show I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked that exposing the deceit was a premeditated 'exit strategy'. 'I just thought to myself... that's going to be my exit strategy,' she revealed. 'It was a bit of game play... I thought 'you know what, at least I've got a little trump card on the exit.''
Her casual bombshell upon leaving—that there were 'more than 10 sweets'—threw the camp into chaos, forcing Aitch and AngryGinge into a panicked cover-up where they blamed Brook and claimed they'd only had one extra sweet each.
Fallout and Future Reunions
The fallout continued when comedian Ruby Wax became the fifth celebrity to be voted out. Hosts Ant and Dec informed her that the trio had actually eaten 20 of the 30 sweets. A betrayed Ruby declared: 'I'll have to punish them when they come out, very badly.'
Despite the on-screen drama, Brook expressed nothing but warmth for her former campmates. 'Big respect to campmates still in and that continue to create such thrilling entertainment everyday under the most gruelling conditions,' she wrote.
She concluded her social media statement by sharing her joy at being reunited with family and her anticipation for the final and the wrap party. 'We are all so looking forward to the Final and the wrap party next week so I can give my Jungle Family one last hug!'
