In a surprising turn of events, Katie Price has publicly praised her former rival Kelly Brook, signalling an end to their years-long feud. The former glamour model, 47, spoke warmly about Brook during a recent episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, which she co-hosts with her sister Sophie.
From Rivals to Reconciliation
The pair, both at the peak of their modelling careers in the past and linked to rugby player Danny Cipriani, had a famously strained relationship. Tensions escalated from 2013, with public jibes exchanged between the two women. However, it appears time has healed these old wounds. Price's comments came as she discussed the new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, the same ITV show she appeared on back in 2004.
Price expressed her delight at seeing Brook in the jungle camp. "Kelly Brook's in it. I love seeing Kelly in it," she told her sister. "Me and Kelly started our modelling career together and the only difference between me and Kelly back then, was she came from a dancing and acting background and she wouldn't get her t**s out but I did." She was quick to add a generous compliment, stating, "She was always stunning, she really is."
A History of Public Clashes
The roots of their feud were deeply personal and very public. Price, who had a newspaper column at the time, used it as a platform to berate Brook. The situation intensified when promotional pictures of Brook emerged, and rumours circulated that she was reuniting with Cipriani, who had previously dated Price and was accused of cheating on her.
In her column, Price made several pointed remarks. She wrote, "Kelly is a brilliant role model for young girls because of her curvy figure. Every mum should make her daughter look at the recent set of pictures that show Kelly modelling her latest New Look range in Miami." She then delivered a backhanded compliment, adding, "They don’t appear to be airbrushed and I’m FLABbergasted to see how big Kelly really is... Rumour has it she’s been hanging out with our mutual ex Danny Cipriani. Knowing him, I guess she’s probably been doing a bit of comfort eating. You’re a heffer, Kelly, but still a hot one."
Brook's Response and the Path to Peace
Kelly Brook did not take long to respond. Just 24 hours after Price's comments were published, she hit back, describing them as "unladylike." In a subsequent interview with OK! magazine, she addressed being attacked by a fellow female celebrity without naming Price directly.
"I didn’t until recently!" Brook said, referring to the support she received. "Then when I was attacked unfairly by another female celebrity, so many women jumped to my defence – I was overwhelmed. Women would contact me and say they loved my body and that I was beautiful. I was so touched." She also took a subtle swipe at Price during an episode of Celebrity Juice, comparing her heavily tanned appearance to the character Magda from There's Something About Mary.
However, a truce seemed possible soon after Brook entered the I'm A Celebrity jungle. Price took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue a public apology. She wrote, "I’m really sorry for what I’ve done you know I think your a natural beautiful girl we go back a long way so I’m sorry xx." Her recent podcast comments confirm that the hatchet has well and truly been buried, closing a contentious chapter in their history.
