Reality television star Katie Price has publicly addressed her infamous decade-long feud with fellow glamour model Kelly Brook, just as Brook enters the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! jungle. In a surprising turn, Price expressed support for her former rival while saving her criticism for their shared ex-boyfriend, rugby player Danny Cipriani.
Jungle Support and Blast from the Past
Speaking on a new episode of The Katie Price Show podcast with her sister Sophie, the star claimed she doesn't remember the negative comments she made about Kelly Brook in a 2013 newspaper column. In that column, written for The Sun, Price had referred to Brook as a 'heffer' and offered a series of backhanded compliments about her 'curvy figure'.
Contrasting her past remarks, Price was full of praise for Brook this week. 'Stunning, beautiful so there you go. I am rooting for Kelly! From one glamour girl to another!' she declared on her podcast.
The Shared Ex-Boyfriend and Cheating Allegations
The root of the tension between the two models has long been linked to their romantic history with Danny Cipriani. Kelly Brook dated the rugby player for approximately two years between 2008 and 2010, a relationship marred by mutual accusations of infidelity.
A year after his split from Brook, Cipriani went on to date Katie Price following her separation from Alex Reid. This relationship also ended acrimoniously when Price alleged he had cheated on her.
During the podcast, Price and her sister Sophie did not hold back in their assessment of their former partner. 'He's a player,' stated Katie. Sophie added, 'He was an absolute k**b to you that guy. I remember Dad meeting him and even Dad was like 'he's a k**b.''
A History of Swipes and a Past Apology
The feud between Price and Brook has played out publicly for years. After Price's 2013 column, Kelly Brook hit back, calling the remarks 'unladylike'. In an interview with OK Magazine a week later, she addressed being 'attacked' by another female celebrity, a clear reference to Price.
Brook also took a swipe of her own, comparing Price to the wrinkled character Magda from the film There's Something About Mary.
Following this, Katie Price attempted to make amends, posting a public apology on X (formerly Twitter) a month later. She tweeted, 'I'm really sorry for what I've done you know I think your a natural beautiful girl we go back a long way so I'm sorry xx.'
The apology seemed to work. Brook later stated on Celebrity Juice that she had patched things up with Price, even crediting her for the warning about Cipriani's behaviour. 'I owe her a lot actually. She was the one who warned me about Cappuccino and his cheating ways,' Brook said, using host Keith Lemon's nickname for Cipriani.
Kelly Brook has now joined the lineup for I'm A Celebrity, which also includes rapper Aitch, former Lioness Alex Scott, and musician Martin Kemp. She is scheduled to face her first Bushtucker Trial in the upcoming episode.
