JoJo Siwa & Chris Hughes Discuss Marriage Plans Ahead of First UK Christmas
JoJo Siwa & Chris Hughes Talk Marriage Plans

Reality TV stars JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes have opened up about their future, including potential marriage plans, as they prepare to celebrate their first Christmas together in the UK.

From the Big Brother House to a Festive Proposal Timeline

The couple, who met on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, confirmed they will be spending the festive season with Chris's family in England. In a candid interview, the pair hinted their whirlwind romance is moving quickly towards serious commitment.

While speaking to The Sun, the topic of marriage arose, with 22-year-old singer JoJo joking she would be the one to pop the question if Chris hadn't proposed within seven years. However, the 32-year-old Love Island star was firm in his response, insisting he would be the one to get down on one knee. "It shouldn't take you seven years to work out if you want to marry someone," Chris stated, adding "So you can go off that and then that won't ever happen."

JoJo inadvertently revealed their true anniversary date, confirming their relationship began on May 27th, 2024—a month earlier than many had assumed. Chris playfully set a future date, declaring, "Just so you know, May 27th 2032, I will be down on one knee, I will not wait one extra day!"

Navigating Public Scrutiny and Building Foundations

The pair's chemistry became a major talking point during their time on Celebrity Big Brother, a situation complicated by the fact JoJo was in a relationship with her now-ex, Kath Ebbs, at the time. When they went public as a couple, it sparked debate on social media, with some viewers speculating it was a 'showmance' for publicity.

Both have strongly denied these accusations. "I think anyone who meets someone on television, I don’t think it matters who it would be, there would be some people who would doubt it. I don’t think you can read into that too much," JoJo explained. Chris echoed her sentiment, describing their approach as simply "bobbing and weaving and ducking and diving, kicking along."

Chris, no stranger to fast-paced relationships after his 2017 Love Island romance with Olivia Attwood, believes the intense environment of the Big Brother house allowed them to build a solid foundation. "We spent three weeks with each other. I know we weren’t together then but it’s been a long time," he said, referring to the deep understanding they developed.

Prioritising Their Cross-Atlantic Relationship

To make their transatlantic relationship work—splitting time between the US and the UK—the couple have established a key rule. JoJo revealed that a dealbreaker for them is only accepting job offers that do not jeopardise their romance. "Something important to both of us, is that nothing comes between us, is that nothing makes anything stressful or feels that we have to do something," she added.

This gushing interview comes shortly after JoJo's ex-partner, Kath Ebbs, announced their engagement to new love Tilly Lucas-Rodd. Kath was reportedly left heartbroken in August when JoJo's flirtatious bond with Chris unfolded on national television, leading to their split shortly after the CBB after-party.

As JoJo and Chris look forward to a family Christmas in England, their focus remains on a future they are consciously and quickly building together, with marriage now firmly on the table.
