Hugh Jackman & Sutton Foster Return from Costa Rica Amid Jealousy Rumours
Jackman & Foster Return from Costa Rica Getaway

Hugh Jackman and his partner, Broadway star Sutton Foster, have swapped the tropical paradise of Costa Rica for reality, after being spotted departing the Central American country this weekend. The couple, who began 2026 in the idyllic location, were seen on Saturday making their way to a private aircraft, seemingly relaxed and still in a holiday mood.

Paradise Departure and Loved-Up Display

The actors were photographed walking in casual, beach-appropriate attire as they enjoyed their final moments in the sun. Jackman, 57, opted for a wide-brimmed straw hat, a blue button-down shirt, and shorts, while Foster, 50, wore a slouchy brown dress decorated with colourful tassels, her hair in a slicked-back bun. Both carried small cups of coffee, fuelling up for their journey home to New York.

Their getaway appeared to be a romantic one, following earlier sightings of the pair sharing affectionate moments on the beach. This public display of affection (PDA) comes shortly after the couple made their official red-carpet debut at the 2025 AFI Fest in Hollywood last October.

Underlying Tensions and On-Screen Chemistry

However, the holiday bliss follows reports of potential strain in their relationship, linked to Jackman's upcoming film. The actor stars opposite Kate Hudson, 46, in the new movie Song Sung Blue, where they portray musicians who fall in love. According to sources speaking to Radar Online, Foster was "mad with jealousy" over the intense on-screen chemistry between Jackman and Hudson.

Insiders suggested the two co-stars grew very close during filming, even joking about feeling like a married couple. One source pointed out that Foster, an accomplished singer herself, might have been a natural fit for the role, but the project required a star of equal fame to Jackman.

"With a big promotional tour ahead for Hugh and Kate, it's only going to get worse for Sutton, even if Hugh doesn't see what all the fuss is about," a source claimed. Despite these rumours, observers noted Foster and Hudson appeared friendly and shared a warm moment together at the Song Sung Blue premiere earlier this month.

Navigating New Relationships and Past Divisions

Jackman and Foster confirmed their romance in January 2025, a relationship that developed in the wake of Jackman's separation from his wife of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness. Their divorce was officially finalised in June 2025.

Further complicating matters, a report from New Idea magazine suggests recent 'peace talks' between Jackman and Furness broke down after she became upset by his very public relationship with Foster. An insider stated that Furness finds it difficult to see Jackman introducing Foster to their mutual friends, as happened recently when the couple visited an Australian pub in New York with Kate Hudson.

The source added that Jackman's plan to bring Foster to Australia for the Christmas holidays was particularly challenging for his ex-wife, who had hoped for a peaceful family occasion. "He's expecting way too much and Deb has made it crystal clear she doesn't want the Hugh and Sutton snog show anywhere near her," the insider revealed.

For now, Jackman and Foster's relaxed departure from Costa Rica suggests they are focused on their own journey, aiming to leave any rumours of jealousy or external pressure firmly behind them.
