Jackie O's Casual Appearance Sends Message Amid Contract Fallout
Jackie 'O' Henderson presented a remarkably casual figure on Thursday as the ongoing fallout from her and Kyle Sandilands' contract termination continues to unfold. The former radio queen, aged 51, was observed inspecting the construction progress of her Clovelly dream home alongside her high-profile interior designer friend, Steve Cordony.
A Telling Fashion Statement
Henderson's choice of attire provided a revealing hint about her immediate future plans. She wore a loose-fitting, wheat-coloured ring-neck T-shirt from the Byron Bay label Spell, which prominently displayed the phrase: 'Go slow for a little while.' This particular garment represents a collaboration between Spell and First Nations singer-songwriter Nidala Barker, with the statement originating from her track, One Of Those Days.
Perhaps even more significant are the song's lyrics, which include the line: 'This is not a call for help / I'll be alright please don't fret / I just need to go slow / Go slow for a little while.' This subtle fashion choice appears to communicate Henderson's current mindset following the dramatic professional developments.
Business Amidst Personal Turmoil
Despite the relaxed message conveyed by her T-shirt, the atmosphere at the construction site was decidedly businesslike. Henderson and Cordony appeared thoroughly focused as they examined the progress on what promises to be a spectacular home. Henderson completed her casual ensemble with loose-fitting cargo pants, accessorised with an oversized leather belt tied in a knot around her waist.
Her flaxen hair worn down, Henderson shielded her eyes with black Ray-Ban sunglasses and carried a leather handbag over her shoulder. While the pair maintained their professional demeanour throughout the inspection, they shared a tender moment as they embraced to bid farewell, suggesting a close personal friendship alongside their working relationship.
Contract Termination Fallout
This sighting follows ARN's bombshell termination of Kyle Sandilands' KIIS FM contract on Wednesday, which came after his on-air confrontation with Henderson. In an explosive statement obtained by media outlets, the 54-year-old radio personality declared he doesn't 'accept' the fate of his role at the network and confirmed the matter would be handled by his legal team.
Sandilands explained the situation, stating: 'ARN has just announced they've terminated my contract. I don't accept it. My lawyers told them last week this would be invalid. And guess what? It is.' He described the incident as 'the kind of thing we've done a hundred times in 25 years,' and criticised ARN's handling of the situation.
The radio host revealed he had apologised to Henderson the night after their on-air clash last month, emphasising: 'I said sorry to Jackie the night of our blow-up. And when I said I was sorry to Jackie, I meant it. I still mean it.' However, he expressed frustration with ARN's subsequent actions, claiming the network made it impossible for the show to continue before terminating his contract.
Henderson's Future Plans
While Henderson has remained relatively coy about her future career plans, she has dismissed suggestions that ARN offered her a solo radio show. When questioned by paparazzi about potential independent radio ventures as she left her Bondi hairdresser, she firmly responded: 'Oh, no.' Sources indicate the media personality has no intention of branching out on her own without her longtime co-host.
Multi-Million Dollar Dream Home
Meanwhile, Henderson's Clovelly property project continues to progress significantly. The home is expected to be worth an eye-watering $30 million upon completion of the rebuild. Situated in one of Australia's most sought-after locations, Henderson is undertaking an entire reconstruction of the property at an estimated cost of $5 million.
The sprawling oceanfront rebuild, overseen by Robert Plumb Build and Madeleine Blanchfield Architects, has entered its next phase. The multi-level concrete shell is now taking full shape, with the show-stopping curved pool structure clearly defined. The site, which offers sweeping oceanside views, was cleared of the original 1960s-era six-bedroom, three-storey home, creating a vast canvas for this substantial construction project.
Henderson purchased her new home after making a tidy $2 million profit on the sale of her previous Woollahra property, which she had bought for $11 million in 2020. This significant real estate investment represents a substantial commitment to her future, even as her professional circumstances undergo dramatic change.
