Jack Osbourne Monitored by I'm A Celeb Bosses After Emotional Start

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! producers are keeping a close watch on Jack Osbourne after the 40-year-old experienced an emotional beginning to jungle life, mere months after the passing of his legendary father, Ozzy Osbourne.

Emotional Jungle Entrance

The Black Sabbath icon died aged 76 on July 22 at his UK home, surrounded by family members. Since the reality show's launch episode on Sunday, Jack has struggled to contain his emotions, breaking down in tears while discussing his father's "shocking" death and clashing with campmate Kelly Brook over potato cutting techniques.

The 45-year-old model became emotional herself following the kitchen spat and apologised, after which Jack decided to step back from his duties as camp chef. The tension has raised concerns among both viewers and fellow television personalities about whether Jack entered the jungle too soon after his father's passing.

Celebrity Concerns and Producer Vigilance

This Morning presenter Alison Hammond, 50, and comedian Leigh Francis, 52, have both expressed worries about Jack's wellbeing. During discussions about the show, they suggested the grieving son might have benefited from waiting longer before taking on the jungle challenge.

A camp insider revealed to The Sun: "Jack has looked dejected at times and clearly has a lot on his mind. Bosses are monitoring his situation intensely." The source added that "ITV has strong duty of care procedures in place and producers do their utmost to ensure campmates are OK 24/7 — but never more so than in situations like this."

Alison expanded on her concerns during I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked, stating: "He struggles. Even when he sees other people cooking, he's like, 'I want to get involved'. If you're gonna step back, step back. I think he should just chill for a bit. I actually feel it's too soon for him to be in the jungle."

Raw Grief on Display

When host Joel Dommett questioned whether her comments related to Ozzy's recent death, Alison confirmed: "Yeah, I think maybe he should've waited a bit. I found it quite painful seeing his pain on camera."

Joel suggested that Jack's emotional outbursts might stem from grief over his father, with Leigh adding: "There's so much sadness in his face. I think it's too soon. He's gonna get angry at things because his emotions are all over the place."

The comedian continued: "I know he's come in here to sort of keep his mind occupied and busy and get through the grief, but I think it's still there. I don't think he's controlling. I think he's trying to lead."

During Monday's episode, viewers witnessed Jack breaking down in tears while recounting his father's death, admitting that the rock star's passing "still feels fresh." The emotional moment unfolded when Emmerdale star Lisa Riley asked about Ozzy as they sat around the campfire.

Jack revealed: "It was definitely a shock. I mean, we knew he was sick for a while, but it was definitely a shock, I mean, we didn't know it would be that quick. It was the ultimate mic drop, he did a massive big gig and was like, alright, I'm done."

As Jack became visibly tearful, Lisa offered her support. He then shared what his father would have thought about him joining I'm A Celebrity, saying: "He'd be so supportive of this."

Later in The Bush Telegraph, the celebrity campmate confessed: "I'm still navigating it all, it's been three, nearly four months, and so it's still pretty fresh."

Daily Mail has contacted ITV for comment regarding Jack's wellbeing and the show's duty of care procedures. I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! continues Thursday on ITV1 and ITVX.
