Influencer Jacquie Alexander, 33, Hits Back at Trolls Claiming Her Wedding Was Fake
Influencer Jacquie Alexander slams trolls over fake wedding claims

Popular Australian influencer Jacquie Alexander has issued a scathing response to online critics who suggested her recent marriage was an elaborate stunt staged purely for social media engagement.

A Sarcastic Rebuttal on TikTok

The 33-year-old content creator, who married 26-year-old hockey star Nathan Ephraums in Melbourne last month, took to TikTok this week to directly address the hurtful accusations. Speaking to her 524,000 followers, Alexander pulled no punches in her sarcastic retort.

"Apparently my acting skills are tea, since you think my wedding was fake," she stated, before quoting one particularly nasty comment: "'They don't even love each other, they're just doing it for the cameras.'"

She added with heavy irony: "Yeah, we didn't actually know each other. I actually hired him. It's time I came clean. The only reason I got married was to make content. The first time I met Nathan was when I saw him at the altar."

Defending Professional Documentation

Alexander explained that much of the criticism stemmed from her decision to hire professionals to photograph and film her wedding day—a common practice she argued was no different from what her own parents did over thirty years ago.

"I'm going to hold your hand while I say this," she told viewers. "My parents got married over 30 years ago, and they had a videographer at their wedding. They had a photographer at their wedding. When I make videos and post videos about my wedding, suddenly the only reason I got married in the first place was to make videos."

She emphasised that she was barely on her phone during the celebrations, having entrusted all content creation to her manager, Olivia. Pre-filmed segments were prepared days in advance to minimise disruption on the day itself.

"As someone who does this as a career, it takes me five seconds to film a video – I don't film them a hundred times... It's a one-hit wonder," Alexander clarified, expressing frustration that this professional approach was being twisted to question the authenticity of her relationship.

Overwhelming Support and Wedding Details

Her post was swiftly met with a flood of support from fans who defended her and praised her wedding content. One supporter commented, "Your wedding was dreammyyy af!! The way I was waiting for all the vids... they were fire," while another noted, "The fact that you have to explain this to people is crazy."

The influencer had extensively shared her fairytale Melbourne wedding online, beginning with a romantic black-and-white photo of the newlyweds kissing at their reception, surrounded by lavish floral arrangements of hydrangeas and peonies.

Prior to the ceremony, she showcased her stunning off-the-shoulder gown on Instagram. She also shared a more candid moment, revealing she calmed pre-wedding nerves with a few cheeky vodka shots with her father en route to the aisle.

The couple got engaged in August 2024, shortly after Nathan competed for Australia's hockey team, the Kookaburras, at the Paris Olympics.

Alexander concluded her message by urging the trolls to self-reflect, stating she was shocked by the vitriol filtered by TikTok and asserting, "Some of you are actually horrible and you need to look internal."
