Coronation Street's Georgia May Foote Calls 2025 'Worst Year' After Salon Fire
Georgia May Foote's 'worst year' after devastating fire

Former Coronation Street actress and Strictly Come Dancing finalist Georgia May Foote has bravely opened up about enduring the "worst year" of her life in 2025, following a devastating fire that destroyed her beauty salon and a reported personal split.

An Emotional Social Media Revelation

Taking to Instagram as the year drew to a close, Foote posted a series of pictures and videos, captioning them with a raw and heartfelt message. She confessed that 2025 was the most challenging period she had ever faced, stating she "couldn't catch a break."

"2025. Nope worst year I've ever had in my life," she wrote. "I couldn't catch a break. Thank God for my friends and family. This has been one of the worst years I've ever experienced. And I know this because literally I couldn't find a single happy period to even post about."

She shared the post to highlight the "little things" that brought her joy amidst the turmoil, explicitly noting that the salon fire was not one of them.

A Double Blow: Business and Health Struggles

The year's central trauma was the blaze that gutted her beauty salon in Greater Manchester in June. Foote had launched the nail business after finding acting roles hard to come by, making its loss a significant professional and personal blow. She used social media at the time to raise funds to rebuild.

Compounding the disaster, the intense stress took a severe toll on her health. Foote, who lives with the skin condition vitiligo, revealed that the year's events caused it to flare up dramatically. "Then the stress of this year just sent my vitiligo wild. I really lost all my confidence," she admitted.

Reports also swirled in June that Foote had split from her husband, Kris Evans, after she removed all traces of him from her social media and was seen without her wedding ring. The couple did not publicly address the speculation.

Finding Strength and a Message of Hope

Despite the anguish, Foote's post was ultimately one of resilience. She credited running as a crucial coping mechanism and declared herself a fighter. "I am so strong. So resilient," she asserted. "The fact I still stand here now, smiling and getting through every day says so much to myself about who I am."

She ended her message with words of encouragement for her followers, urging kindness and perseverance. "Please be kind to others. Please stay strong if you are struggling," she wrote. "Life is hard. But we only get the one. So love deeply. Be loved. And just try and find a little happiness in everyday."

Georgia May Foote is best known for playing Katy Armstrong on Coronation Street for five years until her character was killed off in 2015. That same year, she reached the final of Strictly Come Dancing with professional partner Giovanni Pernice. Her more recent acting credits include The Outpost (2020-2021) and We Are Not Alone in 2022.
