Gemma Collins Returns to I'm A Celebrity with a Powerful Redemption Mission

Reality television star Gemma Collins has made a bold declaration as she prepares to re-enter the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! camp for a second time. The former TOWIE personality, who famously quit the show after just 72 hours in 2014, is now part of the All Stars edition filmed in South Africa, vowing to demonstrate she is a strong woman and committed to seeing the competition through to the end.

A Second Chance at Jungle Glory

Gemma Collins, 45, entered the camp as a late addition alongside actor Craig Charles, describing this opportunity as a real moment for redemption in her career. She emphasised her determination to be the best campmate and ensure no one goes hungry under her watch, stating, To be able to do this again is the greatest honour ever. I am going to be the best campmate and get those stars. None of us will be starving under my watch.

In a significant shift, Collins revealed she will be entering the South African jungle as her authentic self, Gemma Collins, rather than her flamboyant alter ego The GC. She expressed apprehension about facing wild animals but framed this return as a chance to prove her resilience, saying, Gemma Collins is a self-made woman. I have been to hell and back to get to where I am today. I am just looking forward to proving to people I can do it.

Overcoming Past Embarrassment and Seeking Respect

Reflecting on her previous early exit, Collins admitted it has been a shadow over her, causing embarrassment at ITV events where she feared hosts Ant and Dec might recall her as that girl who left the jungle. She is eager to earn their newfound respect and showcase her growth, adding, I want to show them what I am made of.

Her mindset has transformed since 2014; she now describes herself as more wholesome and grounded, contrasting with her earlier focus on material possessions like Range Rovers and luxury coats. Collins asserted, There is no way I am going to be leaving after 72 hours. I am in it to win it. I am going through to the end. Last time, there were no highlights for me. But I wasn't the strong, assertive woman I am today and I've got a totally different mindset.

The Ultimate Career Achievement

If successful, Collins views winning the series and being crowned the Legend as the pinnacle of her career, a redemption that would make her feel complete. She explained, If I could get crowned the 'Legend', I would just feel complete in my life. Me quitting has been a shadow hanging over me. It would be my real redemption moment of my career that I had done this and nobody could take it away from me.

Before joining the main camp, Collins and Craig Charles faced a trial to earn their place. The All Stars lineup also features other notable returnees, including Olympian Sir Mo Farah, former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts, actor Adam Thomas, singer Sinitta, and comedian Seann Walsh.
