Former TOWIE star Ferne McCann has opened up about her instant regret after purchasing a Lamborghini, admitting she felt "too embarrassed" to use it for the school run. The 35-year-old reality television personality revealed she even paid a staggering £7,000 to dispose of the luxury vehicle, describing the expensive purchase as "ridiculous" and "just wasn't her."
Lamborghini Purchase Leads to Immediate Remorse
Ferne McCann appeared on the Spent podcast, in association with Nationwide, where she candidly discussed the impulse buy with host Matt Edmondson. The mother of two explained that she regretted the Lamborghini acquisition as soon as she collected the vehicle from the dealership.
"I once bought a Lamborghini, okay, and I regretted it as soon as I picked it up," Ferne confessed during the podcast interview. "It just wasn't me. It was just ridiculous. And I regretted it as soon as I pulled it off, and I felt guilty."
School Run Embarrassment Proves Final Straw
The television personality detailed how using the high-performance sports car for everyday parental duties became a source of significant discomfort. Ferne specifically mentioned feeling profoundly self-conscious when arriving at her daughter's school in the attention-grabbing vehicle.
"I felt really embarrassed pulling into the school run, obviously the noise, I'm just cringing now," she revealed. The distinctive engine roar and flashy appearance of the Lamborghini made her feel conspicuously out of place during routine school drop-offs and pickups.
Ferne McCann ultimately decided to part ways with the £250,000 Lamborghini Urus, which she had initially acquired in 2022 shortly after announcing her engagement to Lorri Haines. The process of disposing of the luxury vehicle came with a substantial financial penalty.
"When I got rid of it, I had to pay to get rid of it… I had to pay something like seven grand to actually get rid of the thing," Ferne explained. "I had a huge sense of relief. I was like, that's gone."
Additional Impulse Buys and Regrets
The Lamborghini was not Ferne McCann's only expensive purchase that resulted in immediate buyer's remorse. She also recounted another regrettable acquisition involving a premium skincare product famously used by global superstar Beyoncé.
After being persuaded by spa staff during a treatment session, Ferne spent approximately £800 on what she described as "Beyoncé's diamond serum" while wearing only her bathrobe. She immediately regretted the extravagant purchase.
"I spent £800 on Beyoncé's diamond serum in my bathrobe… and hated myself straight after," Ferne admitted. Recalling the moment she learned the price, she added: "She was like, 'That will be like £890.' … My jaw hit the floor."
The television personality offered cautionary advice based on her experience: "Don't ever buy a product post-treatment, no, no, don't do it, because you're not rationally thinking. I paid it… and maybe it was a regret as well. I definitely regretted it."
Recent Wellness Purchase and Future Plans
Elsewhere in the podcast conversation, Ferne McCann discussed her most recent acquisition: a Chi Machine designed to "balance her energy." This therapeutic device, originally developed in Japan, provides passive aerobic exercise by oscillating the user's ankles while they lie down.
The machine aims to mimic the movement of a swimming fish, with purported benefits including improved circulation, enhanced oxygenation, increased relaxation, and reduced muscle soreness and tension.
"My last purchase was a Chi Machine. I saw it on an influencer on Instagram and I was like, what's that?" Ferne explained. "You lay down and it wiggles your feet… and it allows this energy to flow. We are all balls of energy… we have the ability to control our energy, and I'm so into that."
Ferne indicated she plans to thoroughly test the device before potentially endorsing it to her social media followers. "If the Chi Machine is naff, you won't see it on the grid. But if it unlocks some energy, there will be a sponsored link," she revealed, suggesting she might pursue commercial partnerships if the product proves effective.
