Body Language Expert Casts Doubt on Brooklyn Beckham's Family Feud Allegations
A prominent body language expert has raised significant questions about Brooklyn Beckham's recent claims regarding his mother, Victoria Beckham, after conducting a detailed analysis of multiple video recordings. The analysis comes amid a very public and bitter family dispute that has captured media attention across the United Kingdom and beyond.
Examining the Video Evidence
UK expert Judi James spoke exclusively to the Daily Mail, offering her professional assessment of Victoria Beckham's behaviour in the months preceding Brooklyn's explosive social media posts. Brooklyn, aged 26, unleashed a six-part Instagram story on Monday, making several serious allegations against his parents.
In his posts, he claimed that his parents attempted to sabotage his relationship with his now-wife, Nicola Peltz, whom he married in 2022. He further alleged that his mother withdrew from creating Nicola's wedding dress at the last possible moment and engaged in what he described as 'inappropriate' dancing with him during the wedding reception. Brooklyn suggested this was part of a sustained campaign to make the couple feel uncomfortable.
Contradictory Visual Cues of Closeness
However, Judi James's analysis of various pre-wedding videos presents a strikingly different picture. After reviewing footage of Victoria, aged 51, interacting with both Brooklyn and Nicola on several occasions, the expert identified compelling non-verbal signals that suggest warmth and rapport.
A video montage showing the former Spice Girl dancing with her family revealed particularly telling interactions. Judi observed that Victoria and Nicola appeared exceptionally comfortable in each other's company. The expert hypothesised that Nicola represented someone with whom the fashion icon could truly be herself, dropping her carefully maintained public persona.
'The videos of them dancing together are especially compelling when it comes to apparently showing high levels of trust and shared fun,' Judi told the Daily Mail regarding the apparent bond between Victoria and her daughter-in-law.
Analysis of Key Moments
One significant clip showed Victoria and Nicola dancing together on a beach at sunset to celebrate Nicola's 29th birthday. The footage was originally shared on social media alongside an affectionate tribute.
'We see them on a beach at sunset, shot grainy and from a distance as though they really were dancing as though no one is watching,' Judi remarked about this particular scene. The expert noted that their 'well-mirrored and matching dancing' indicates a 'lack of inhibitions' when they are together.
'It looks more like a hen night party of two,' she added, emphasising the apparent intimacy of the moment.
Consistent Behaviour Across Settings
Judi further observed that in other videos capturing the pair's interactions during more public events—including after the premiere of Nicola's film Lola in 2024—Victoria's demeanour remained consistently relaxed and engaged.
'The message seems to have been that Nicola was someone Victoria could drop the carefully-crafted fashionista look and relax and let her hair down with,' Judi explained. This observation directly challenges Brooklyn's portrayal of a strained relationship.
'Brooklyn has referenced his "Truman show" lifestyle where it was all about the brand but these arms in the air dancing together moments do look convincing in terms of implying there had been closeness and even friendship between Victoria and Nicola at some stage,' Judi continued. 'In fact they look like Victoria at her most relaxed and comfortable, which is not her usual style in public.'
Discrepancy Over Wedding Dance Accounts
Brooklyn's specific claim that his mother Victoria 'hijacked' his first dance at his wedding also faces contradiction from an official source. The couple's April 2022 wedding was extensively covered by US Vogue, which provided lavish details about the event's proceedings.
According to Vogue's account, the wedding party followed American traditions, including separate dances for mother and son and father and daughter. The publication states that the newlyweds' first dance was to South African singer Lloyiso's rendition of Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling In Love.
The magazine reports that much later in the reception, around 11pm, Marc Anthony—a close friend of David and Victoria—performed his track I Need To Know. It was at this juncture that 'Brooklyn invited his mother on stage for a dance and they were joined by David and their 10-year-old daughter, Harper.'
This description directly contrasts with Brooklyn's statement that 'Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.' The expert's analysis, combined with this documented account, presents a complex narrative that questions the accuracy of the feud's portrayal.
