Will & Grace Star Eric McCormack's £10k Monthly Divorce Settlement Revealed
Eric McCormack's £10k Monthly Divorce Settlement Finalised

New financial details have emerged from the divorce of Will & Grace star Eric McCormack and his former wife, Janet Holden, bringing a conclusion to their separation after more than 26 years of marriage.

The Financial Settlement Details

A judge formally approved a settlement arrangement on Monday, as reported by People magazine after reviewing court documents. The agreement stipulates that the 62-year-old actor will provide his ex-wife with $10,000 (£8,000) per month in spousal support through to the year 2035. The amount was calculated based on their respective annual incomes, with McCormack earning $92,000 and Holden earning $23,000.

The publication notes that McCormack will be permitted to seek a modification to this amount in nine years' time. In a significant clause, Janet Holden will also receive half of all residuals from his intellectual property related to projects he worked on during their marriage. This is expected to be a substantial sum, given his decades-long career.

Division of Assets and Property

The former couple, who were legally married from August 3, 1997, until February 12, 2024 (their official separation date), have reached terms on dividing their community property. This includes residuals from projects Eric worked on during the union, such as:

  • Will & Grace
  • Dead Like Me
  • Lego Masters
  • The podcast Just Jack and Will

Other assets to be divided, as outlined in the settlement, include multiple homes, bank accounts, vehicles, and a trailer. McCormack will retain full rights to residuals from projects he undertook before and after the marriage, including Lonesome Dove: The Series and the podcast Still Here Hollywood.

Background and Moving Forward

Janet Holden initially filed for divorce in November 2023, citing irreconcilable differences and requesting spousal support while asking the court to terminate McCormack's right to claim any from her. The pair share a 23-year-old son, Finnigan Holden McCormack.

McCormack confirmed last autumn that they had entered a written agreement regarding property and support. The settlement details emerge nearly a year after he was photographed hand-in-hand with a new partner, Sue Conder, in New York City, suggesting he has moved on personally.

The couple first met in 1994 on the set of Lonesome Dove in Canada, where he was an actor and she served as an assistant director. They married in 1997, just five months before McCormack landed his career-defining role as Will Truman on the hit NBC sitcom Will & Grace.
