Fresh from her glitterball triumph on Strictly Come Dancing, Ellie Leach is trading the dance floor for the stage as she prepares for her theatrical debut in Cluedo 2. The actress, who shot to fame as Faye Windass in Coronation Street, has confessed to experiencing pre-show nerves ahead of the production's UK tour.

"My heart was racing," Ellie revealed about her first rehearsal experience. "Walking into that room full of incredibly talented performers was utterly terrifying."

The 22-year-old star, who became Strictly's youngest ever champion last year, is taking on the role of Miss Scarlett in the murder mystery sequel. She joins an impressive ensemble cast including Jason Durr (Father Brown), Dawn Buckland (Doctors), and Jack Bennett (The Crown).

From Ballroom to Backstage

Ellie shared her unique approach to calming those first-night jitters, developed during her Strictly journey. "I have this little ritual," she explained. "I write myself a note on my hand - just a small heart to remind myself that I'm here because I deserve to be."

The transition from television dancing sensation to stage actress hasn't been without its challenges. "Theatre is a completely different world," Ellie admitted. "On Strictly, you perform once and it's done. With theatre, you're telling the same story night after night, but making it feel fresh each time."

A Star-Studded Production

Cluedo 2 continues the successful adaptation of the classic board game, promising audiences "more twists, more turns, and definitely more murders" according to production notes. The tour will visit theatres across the country, giving fans nationwide the opportunity to see Ellie's theatrical transformation.

Ellie's co-stars have been overwhelmingly supportive of her stage debut. "Everyone has been so welcoming," she gushed. "Jason and Dawn have taken me under their wing - it feels like being part of a new family."

As opening night approaches, Ellie remains focused on delivering a performance that will surprise audiences who only know her from her television work. "I want to prove I'm more than just a soap star or a dancing champion," she stated determinedly. "This is my chance to show what I can really do."
