Former UFC fighter Tim Means, 42, has been charged with felony child abuse after allegedly punching and headbutting his 17-year-old daughter during an argument over household chores in Tijeras, New Mexico.
According to a criminal complaint, deputies from the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a physical altercation at a home on Camino De Avila on April 21. The teenager told police that Means headbutted her in the nose, then grabbed her by the neck in a 'strangulating manner' and held her against a kitchen counter.
She said Means threw a potato at her face and later punched her on the right side of her face with a closed fist as she tried to leave. The complaint noted visible hand and red marks on the teen's neck, blood in her nose from the headbutt, and several red marks indicating she was hit in the face.
Means, known as 'Dirty Bird', has fought professionally since 2004 but lost his last five fights and has not competed since October 2024. He was taken into custody and booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on Wednesday, released on Friday.
This is not the first time Means has faced disciplinary issues. He was released by the UFC in 2013 for repeated weight-cutting failures, though he returned the following year. In 2016, he served a six-month suspension for a failed drug test attributed to a tainted supplement.
