Charlotte Dawson denies split rumours with rugby star fiancé

Charlotte Dawson has publicly addressed swirling speculation about the state of her relationship with fiancé Matt Sarsfield, firmly denying claims the couple have parted ways.

Setting the Record Straight on Social Media

The 32-year-old daughter of comedy icon Les Dawson took to Instagram to quash the rumours head-on. Sharing images from the launch party for her tanning brand, Dawsylicious, which showed her embracing the 34-year-old rugby star, Charlotte delivered a clear message to her followers. "Don’t believe everything you read my darlings… it’s not true. We are still together," she wrote. The mum-of-three, who looked stunning in a black velvet mini dress, added that the pair had even commemorated their children by getting matching tattoos of their names: Noah, Jude, and Gigi.

The Source of the Split Speculation

The denial comes after a report in The Sun suggested the couple had experienced a ‘blazing row’ at the Manchester launch event for Dawsylicious Tanning on Thursday. A source claimed that Matt had walked out following the argument and subsequently blocked Charlotte on WhatsApp, leaving her "so upset." The insider had stated there was "no way back for the pair" and that Charlotte was determined to move on, having "had enough of Matt." This incident was reportedly compounded by the fact Charlotte had recently rushed their two-year-old son, Jude, to hospital.

A representative for Charlotte also directly refuted the claims, telling press: "Charlotte and Matt are definitely still together and any suggestions otherwise are completely untrue."

A History of Headlines

This is not the first time the couple's engagement has faced public scrutiny. Last year, their relationship was rocked by reports that Charlotte had kicked Matt out of their family home after discovering he had been sexting another woman. At the time, Charlotte admitted to being "hurt and humiliated," and told Closer magazine that the trust had been massively damaged. However, she chose to reconcile, citing their shared children, home, businesses, and enduring love. "We are giving it one last go," she said at the time, noting that things were moving in the right direction.

With her latest social media post, Charlotte Dawson has made a definitive effort to control the narrative around her personal life, insisting that despite the rumours, her family unit remains intact.
