The judge denied Jones' motion to dismiss and rejected her request to add producer Jamey Heath to the litigation, setting new pretrial dates with an April 2 status conference.
Baldoni's legal team had requested extensions, arguing that Lively's attorneys submitted nearly 1,000 potential exhibits and 40 possible witnesses, creating a "document dump" that was impractical with the trial looming in May. They claimed this was a tactical move to delay proceedings, but Lively's lawyers countered it was merely an incremental tactic. The judge extended deadlines to allow more time for review.
This follows a six-hour settlement meeting that failed to resolve the dispute, leading to a scheduled trial opening on May 18. The legal battle began in December 2024 when Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment, retaliatory conduct, and emotional distress, naming Wayfarer Studios and others. Baldoni later filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane, though parts were dismissed in June. All parties deny the allegations.
