According to an insider who spoke to People magazine on Wednesday, the primary reason for the split was the challenge of coordinating their demanding professional schedules. Ali Wong is preparing for a major stand-up tour, while Bill Hader has numerous film and television projects lined up for the year.
"It was too difficult to make the relationship work with Ali's upcoming stand-up tour and Bill's film and TV projects this year," the source explained. The couple have now decided to channel their energy into their careers and their children, while reportedly maintaining a supportive connection.
Signs of Strain and Public Appearances
Hints that the relationship was under pressure emerged last year. Notably, Wong attended the 2025 Golden Globes ceremony alone, where she won the award for Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television for her Netflix special 'Single Lady'. She did not walk the red carpet with Hader and did not mention him in her acceptance speech.
