Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden is the latest high-profile name linked to the upcoming second series of the hit BBC show, Celebrity Traitors. The 54-year-old television personality is reportedly eager to enter the show's iconic Scottish castle, following the successful example set by her close friend and co-host, comedian Alan Carr.
Juggling Act for the BGT Star
A significant hurdle for Holden is her extremely busy professional schedule. According to a source speaking to The Sun, a major clash exists with her role on ITV's Britain's Got Talent. Filming for The Celebrity Traitors takes place in the Scottish Highlands concurrently with the BGT semi-finals, which are broadcast live from London on Saturday nights.
The source explained that while it is "not impossible" for her to be granted some time off, it presents a substantial logistical challenge. Holden would also need to manage her commitments to her daily Heart Breakfast radio show, potential new series of her property renovation programmes with Alan Carr, and her BBC quiz show, The Inner Circle.
"But it's something she'd really love to do if she can make it all work," the insider added, highlighting her keen interest in participating.
Advice from a Winning Best Friend
Should she secure a place on the show, Holden will have a prime source of insider knowledge. Her best friend, Alan Carr, triumphed in the first celebrity series, famously winning £87,500 for Neuroblastoma UK after masterfully deceiving his fellow contestants throughout the game.
The pair have presented several series together, including Amanda & Alan's Italian Job and their latest, Amanda & Alan's Greek Job. Carr's experience in navigating the psychological mind games of the Traitors castle would undoubtedly provide Holden with invaluable strategic tips.
A Star-Studded Line-Up Awaits
The first celebrity edition of The Traitors, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, proved to be a massive ratings success for the BBC, becoming the most-watched TV show of 2025. It featured an impressive roster of stars including Sir Stephen Fry, actor Celia Imrie, and Olympian Tom Daley.
For the anticipated second series, expected to air this autumn, Holden could be joined by a host of other famous faces. Reports suggest that actor Danny Dyer, who initially turned down the offer, has now changed his mind. Former England football manager Gareth Southgate is also a potential contestant; he previously revealed that the England squad played their own version of the game during the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Furthermore, This Morning presenter Alison Hammond has expressed interest, as has a notable member of the royal family circle: former rugby player Mike Tindall, who is married to Zara Tindall, the granddaughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
While the BBC has not yet confirmed an official air date, production for the new series is expected to commence soon, with the show slated for a return to screens in the autumn.
