Amanda Holden's Basic Instinct moment: Star recreates iconic scene in leather skirt
Amanda Holden recreates Basic Instinct scene in leather mini skirt

Television and radio star Amanda Holden has once again set social media alight, this time with a playful and risqué homage to one of cinema's most infamous moments.

A Cheeky Office Recreation

The Britain's Got Talent judge and Heart Radio presenter shared a video with her Instagram followers where she recreated Sharon Stone's legendary scene from the 1992 thriller Basic Instinct. Sitting in an office wearing a burgundy leather mini skirt, Amanda uncrossed her legs to reveal a flash of her black and white underwear.

"I didn't want to do a Basic Instinct there," she joked to the camera. "Although I am wearing pants because it's Tuesday!" The original scene featured Sharon Stone's character, Catherine Tramell, famously going commando while being questioned by detectives.

Beyond the Viral Moment: 'Try January' and Home Life

Moving on from the cheeky reference, the 54-year-old star then chatted to her followers about her outfit and her plans for the new year. She revealed she is forgoing traditional resolutions in favour of a "Try January," which involves sampling new things and attempting a brief detox from alcohol.

"I'm two days in, I've got the shakes but I am on a tiny detox until at least Friday," she admitted when a colleague asked how it was going, before blowing a kiss and heading back to her desk.

Amanda, who shares two daughters—Lexi, 19, and Hollie, 14—with her talent manager husband Chris Hughes, 51, also offered a glimpse into her busy home life. The family moved into their £7 million Surrey home in November 2024, which she has transformed from a minimalist space into a bold, maximalist mansion.

Practical Glamour in a Family Home

Despite the opulent decor featuring leopard print wallpaper and gold trims, Amanda prioritises practicality for her family, which includes two dogs and a cat. She previously told The Mirror that having wipe-clean wooden floors throughout the ground floor is essential for easy clean-ups.

She also converted her old dining room into a bar, preferring a large kitchen where guests can socialise while she cooks. A self-confessed Sex and the City fan, she was thrilled when her husband created a dream wardrobe for her, complete with a remote-controlled mirror, in their previous property.

Amanda Holden continues to balance her high-profile career in entertainment with her role as a mother, proving that a touch of Hollywood glamour can very much be part of a vibrant, family-focused life in the British countryside.
