Emotional Outburst on Podcast
Acknowledging his "beautiful wife" and children, Adam said: "There's days when I walk downstairs in this house and I think: 'F*****g hell, I'm so grateful, I'm so lucky. But I feel guilty because of it. Why do I deserve this? Why do I deserve this beautiful wife and perfect family? Why me? I'm no different to anybody else." He admitted to continuing to doubt himself, despite his sterling success, stifling tears as he explained: "That's the one thing that I'm chasing, the self-belief and confidence. On paper, the life I've created for myself is ridiculous, it's amazing. But sometimes there's this one thing inside me, I just doubt myself."
Adam elaborated on his insecurities, saying: "I feel like I'm no good at this or that, I'm not a good friend, not a good husband, at times not a great dad, not necessarily wanting to further my career..." Concluding, he noted that he needs to take his own advice, taking a deep breath and stating: "I'm everyone else's best friend and I will always big everyone up and tell them how great they are...and I just don't do that for myself."
Support from Followers
Responding to the candid clip, the actor's followers were full of support. One replied: "You have worked so hard for everything you have got and you're still working hard. You did all this you so be proud of yourself xx." Meanwhile, another said, sweetly: "I think the most humble people will always be in disbelief of the amazing things around them, the fact your grateful and sincere in all the lovely things around you makes you 100x better than somebody who boasts, you don't need to change anything apart from just embrace it all."
Battling Health Challenges
Adam, who is married to wife Caroline, with whom he shares son Teddy, nine, and daughter Elsie, five, has had a lot on his plate recently. The actor recently opened up about his debilitating health condition, which leaves him forced to inject himself every two weeks to keep his pain under control. Adam was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition psoriatic arthritis in 2023, which leads to joint pain, swelling, and stiffness.
Sharing a video showing him injecting himself with medication, the dad-of-two told his 1.2 million Instagram followers: "Today is a very big day people, because today I’m going to try and attempt to do my injections on my own for the very first time." He explained how he lives with the condition, detailing to fans: "It is an autoimmune disease. Basically means my immune system is attacking my own body. It causes a s**t-load of pain."
Admitting he spends some days "smiling through the pain," Adam confessed: "One day you’re completely fine, and then the next day you’re in that much pain you can barely even get out of bed." This health struggle adds a layer of complexity to his emotional turmoil, highlighting the intersection of physical and mental challenges in his life.
