Fans of early 2000s teen dramas have been met with sad news as married actor and actress couple Tyler Hilton and Megan Park have announced their separation. The pair, who wed in 2015, revealed they have decided to end their marriage after over a decade together.
A Private Announcement on Social Media
The 42-year-old One Tree Hill star took to his Instagram on Friday to share the personal update. Hilton explained that while he is usually private about family matters, he wanted to address growing online speculation. "Some time ago, Megan and I decided to end our marriage," he wrote. The actor concluded his statement by emphasising that their focus remains on their children, adding, "We continue to make the kids and co-parenting the priority. Thanks for continuing to respect our privacy."
From On-Set Romance to Family Life
The couple's love story began in 2006 when they met on the set of the 2008 indie film Charlie Bartlett. After eight years together, they announced their engagement in 2014. They married in a small, intimate ceremony in Malibu, California, in October 2015. At the time, Park described the day to UsWeekly as "everything we wanted it to be," celebrating their long-term relationship with friends and family.
The wedding at Triunfo Creek Vineyards was a relaxed, backyard BBQ-themed affair. It featured a bluegrass band, a food truck, ping pong tables, and was designed to feel like one of their frequent gatherings. The couple opted for a simple wedding party, with just a maid of honour and a best man.
Focusing on the Future and Co-Parenting
Tyler Hilton and Megan Park share two children: a six-year-old daughter named Winnie and a son, Benny, born in 2024. Their joint statement makes it clear that their children's wellbeing is their foremost concern as they navigate this new chapter.
Hilton is best known for his role as musician Chris Keller across all nine seasons of the hit series One Tree Hill from 2003 to 2012. Park rose to fame playing Grace Bowman on the ABC Family teen drama The Secret Life of the American Teenager, which aired from 2008 to 2013. She has since successfully moved behind the camera, writing and directing the 2024 coming-of-age film My Old Ass, starring Aubrey Plaza.
