Abbie Chatfield Denies Eyelid Surgery, Blames Dermatitis in Fiery Clapback
Abbie Chatfield denies blepharoplasty surgery claims

Reality TV star and podcast host Abbie Chatfield has issued a blunt denial after a social media follower accused her of undergoing secret cosmetic surgery on her eyelids.

Clapping Back on Instagram Stories

The 30-year-old media personality addressed the claim directly in a video posted to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday. The anonymous comment suggested that a visible line on her eyelid was a scar from an upper blepharoplasty—a procedure to remove excess skin, fat, and muscle.

Abbie firmly refuted this, stating the mark was simply 'dermatitis' or 'burst capillaries'. In the clip, filmed while lying in bed with her partner Adam Hyde, she read out the accusation: 'I know an upper bleph scar when I see one.'

'It's called dermatitis. It's called burst capillaries... Guys, I would tell you,' Chatfield insisted, showing her eyelid to the camera. She then turned to Hyde, asking, 'I did not get an upper bleph, did I?' He laughed in response, questioning what a 'bleph' was, to which Abbie explained, 'It's when you get your eyelids cut off.'

A History of Cosmetic Procedure Honesty

This incident is notable precisely because Chatfield has been notably transparent about other cosmetic work she has had done. In January 2024, she discussed a personal conflict on her 'It's A Lot' podcast, revealing her desire for a rhinoplasty (nose job) and the feminist dilemma it created for her.

She explained she already gets filler to correct a lack of cartilage between her eyes but was considering permanent surgery. 'My biggest problem with it is it's not very feminist or very intersectional,' she confessed. Abbie acknowledged that in a vacuum without societal pressure, she wouldn't want the procedure.

'Unfortunately, I don't live in a f***ing vacuum, I live in a f***ing Big Brother house where every c*** is filming me from every f***ing angle,' she added, highlighting the intense scrutiny of public life. Her producer reassured her that telling women what to do with their bodies isn't feminist either, prompting Abbie to ask, 'So, should I book it in then?'

From Non-Surgical Tweaks to Surgical Considerations

Abbie first ventured into cosmetic enhancement in 2020 with a non-surgical rhinoplasty, using dermal filler to reshape the bridge of her nose. She shared the results enthusiastically on Instagram at the time, posting before-and-after photos from a clinic in Double Bay, Sydney.

In her posts, she expressed initial hesitation about sharing the news but ultimately called the results 'life-changing,' stating it addressed a long-standing dislike of a hook or bump in her nose. This history of openness makes her denial of the blepharoplasty more pointed, as she has a track record of discussing such alterations publicly rather than hiding them.

The episode underscores the persistent public speculation faced by celebrities regarding their appearance and the fine line they walk between personal choice, public image, and their own stated principles.
