Prince Harry and Meghan Markle participated in a comprehensive roundtable discussion organised by the World Health Organisation, which brought together key figures from leading international bodies. The meeting included representatives from various United Nations agencies, diplomatic officials, and major donors all focused on refugee support initiatives.
Warm Welcome from WHO Leadership
The Sussexes traveled to Jordan specifically at the invitation of Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the director-general of the World Health Organisation. Dr. Tedros personally greeted the couple on the steps of the WHO's country office in Amman, offering warm embraces to both the duke and duchess. Meghan appeared in a coordinated white jacket and trousers ensemble for the occasion.
Comprehensive Two-Day Agenda
During their intensive visit, Harry and Meghan will engage in multiple high-profile meetings and site visits. Their schedule includes discussions with Jordanian government leaders and senior health officials, as well as direct engagement with WHO field teams operating in the region.
The couple plans to visit frontline health programs and mental health initiatives that serve refugee populations. They will also meet with staff from World Central Kitchen who are coordinating food relief efforts for Gaza from their Amman operations center.
Youth and Community Engagement
An important component of their visit includes a stop at Questscope's youth center, a social development organization. There, the Sussexes will listen to young people participating in creative programs and wellbeing initiatives designed to support refugee youth and local communities.
The visit represents another international humanitarian engagement for the couple, who stepped back from official royal duties in 2020 to pursue independent projects and financial autonomy while maintaining their commitment to charitable causes worldwide.
