Bianca Censori Ditches Risque Style for Corporate Look at Columbia University
Bianca Censori Goes Corporate at Columbia University

Bianca Censori, the 31-year-old Australian architect and wife of Kanye West, traded her usual daring style for a sophisticated corporate ensemble during a visit to an Ivy League institution in New York City this week. On Tuesday, she attended Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, where she served as a guest critic for the Master of Architecture Advanced Studio IV Final Reviews.

From Risque to Refined

Censori, who holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in architecture from the University of Melbourne, opted for a modest look comprising a black jacket and a knee-length black skirt. She completed the outfit with black heeled leather boots and let her hair flow freely past her shoulders. This marked a stark contrast to her recent public appearances, which often featured revealing attire.

Just last week, she was spotted at the Chateau Marmont in a skimpy gold bodysuit with a deep plunging neckline, paired with silver tights. In February, she was seen in Los Angeles wearing similarly bold outfits. However, during her Columbia visit, she blended in with the academic setting, sitting attentively in a classroom alongside other attendees, listening to a presentation while seated next to a bridge model.

Guest Critic Role

The university listed Censori as a guest critic and credited her as an Architectural Designer and Artist. Her appearance at Columbia comes after a March visit to a Los Angeles courthouse, where she testified in a lawsuit against West. That day, she also opted for a demure ensemble, looking nearly unrecognizable compared to her usual style.

The couple, married since 2022, have faced legal challenges, including a civil lawsuit filed by Tony Saxon, a project manager hired to renovate West's Malibu mansion in 2021. Saxon alleged unpaid wages, hazardous working conditions, and wrongful termination.

Defending Her Style Choices

In a February interview with Vanity Fair, Censori addressed rumors that West controls her wardrobe. "I wouldn't be doing something I didn't want to do," she stated, emphasizing that she and her husband collaborate on her outfits. "It was never 'I was being told to do something.'" She likened the collaboration to being married to Gianni Versace, questioning if he wouldn't give her a dress.

Earlier this month, Censori supported West during his comeback concerts in Los Angeles, posting an image on Instagram Stories wearing a blue catsuit. She also modeled a tiny red-and-white tasseled bikini, tagging designer Gadir Rajab.

Directorial Debut

Censori recently made her directorial debut with the music video for West's track Father, from his 12th studio album Bully, released on March 28. The nearly three-minute video was shot in a single frame within a beige church, featuring various characters moving in and out. In an interview with Architectural Digest, she explained, "As my directorial debut, it felt like a natural extension of my background in architecture and performance art. Directing is not a departure for me, but a shift in medium. I'm still shaping space, bodies and emotion, it's just articulated through film."

Legal and Travel Issues

West recently faced a ban from traveling to the United Kingdom for the 2026 Wireless Festival, following backlash over past antisemitic comments. His concert in Poland was also canceled, and a show in France was postponed. In January, he apologized for his past statements and discussed his bipolar disorder in a Wall Street Journal advertisement.
