Nicky Campbell's Daughter Injured in E-Bike Crash, Flashed by Drunk

BBC Radio 5 Live star Nicky Campbell has shared details of a harrowing night after his daughter was struck by an e-bike in a hit-and-run incident, followed by a disturbing encounter with a drunk man at the hospital.

A Chaotic Evening Unfolds

The broadcaster took to Instagram to recount the events, describing it as a 'long and emotional night'. His daughter Lilla was hit by an e-bike in Peckham, and the rider fled the scene before emergency services arrived. Campbell expressed hope that CCTV footage would help identify the culprit.

'My daughter Lilla was hit by an e-bike hit and run last night in Peckham - hopefully there is CCTV. Once he saw the ambulance arrive (2mins) and the crowd gathering - he scarpered. Her sisters were with her. She is badly injured but now at home. It could have been so much worse. We are incredibly lucky,' Campbell wrote.

Disturbing Hospital Incident

The ordeal did not end there. When Lilla and her sisters arrived at A&E, a drunk man entered the trauma room and exposed himself to them. Campbell noted that police were present and arrested the individual.

'The police were there and he has been arrested. The police were magnificent. I spoke to them when I arrived at 3.15 and he is now in custody,' he added.

Gratitude for Emergency Services

Campbell expressed heartfelt thanks to the police and hospital staff at King's College Hospital, praising their professionalism and care. 'We all want to say a massive thank you to our amazing police, the wonderful staff at @kingscollegehospital - nurses and doctors. Calum and the team. From the bottom of our hearts. They were all bloody superb,' he said.

Support from Colleagues and Fans

BBC co-star Rachel Burden was among the first to offer support, commenting, 'My goodness Nicky - so sorry to hear all this. Hope Lilla and the girls ok.' Fans also flooded the post with messages of concern and well-wishes for Lilla's recovery.

One fan wrote: 'Oh my goodness how awful for your daughter and the rest of your family. So glad she is home and wishing her a speedy and full recovery. Sending love.' Another added: 'So terrible for your daughters and for you all. So glad that there was and is help and support. We all send you our love Nicky.'

Previous Emotional Moment

This incident comes after Campbell was moved to tears live on air while listening to the story of a sub-postmistress jailed due to a shortfall in her Post Office accounts, later revealed to be caused by the Horizon IT software glitch. The emotional moment occurred during a discussion about the ITV drama Mr Bates vs The Post Office.
