A woman has shared her shock after hearing her grandmother's deathbed confession, which completely changed the way she viewed her and left her family scrambling for answers. The confession, made moments before the grandmother's death, alleged that she had committed murder, turning the family's world upside down.
The Confession That Changed Everything
Responding to a Reddit question about interesting deathbed confessions, the woman wrote that her grandmother, known for being eccentric, admitted to murder. The family initially suspected the confession might be due to pain relief medication, but given her eccentric nature, it seemed believable. The woman added: “We traced all her ex-husbands, partners and any other likely candidates and fortunately no one was missing or died an untimely death, but sometimes I wonder...”
Family Left with Unanswered Questions
As the grandmother died just moments after the confession, the family never had the chance to ask follow-up questions, leaving them with a mystery they may never solve. Commenters on the post offered various theories, with one suggesting it could have been a final prank, another speculating about a hit-and-run, and a third proposing it might have been related to an aborted child, citing guilt they had heard from mothers before.
Similar Confessions from a Dying Patient
The story is not unique; a nurse also recalled a chilling confession from a dying patient who admitted to a lifetime of violent crime. The patient, a former gang hitman, confessed to carrying out contract killings for money and offered to show police where the bodies were buried to provide closure for victims' families. The nurse said: “We had an ex-gang guy who was dying of cancer and he confessed that he was the gang hit-man for many years. He wanted to confess to all the killings and show the police where the bodies are buried. He would get closure knowing that the surviving families of his victims find out where they were buried.” The hospital had to involve its legal team as there were no policies to handle such a situation, and police eventually became involved, leading to confessions about gang murders from decades ago.
