Tartan Army Plea After Scotland Fan's Wheelchair Stolen

The Tartan Army has issued an urgent appeal after a Scotland supporter's wheelchair was taken from a designated storage area at Gillette Stadium during Friday night's World Cup defeat to Morocco. The incident was highlighted by the official supporters' group, which is seeking to locate the wheelchair belonging to fan John.

John and his wife Mary were watching the Group C clash from section 303, reserved for wheelchair users, while his wheelchair had been stowed away for the match. However, supporters say someone later removed the chair from the storage area after insisting they needed it for their father.

Social Media Appeal

In a social media appeal, the Tartan Army Group stated: "John's wheelchair was stowed for the game and unfortunately someone removed it from the storage area insisting he needed it for his father. We can only presume he thought John's wheelchair belonged to the stadium. If it was you, can you DM us to let us know where exactly you left it so it can be located and returned to John."

Scotland Fans in Boston

The appeal comes as thousands of Scotland fans descended on Boston for the World Cup, with supporters winning over locals with their good humour and carnival atmosphere. Around 5,000 ticketless members of the Tartan Army gathered in the fan zone at City Hall to watch Steve Clarke's side slip to a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Morocco on Friday night, while many others packed into Gillette Stadium hoping to see Scotland take a major step towards the knockout stages.

Despite the setback, supporters have remained upbeat and have now begun making the journey south to Miami ahead of Scotland's decisive final Group C fixture against Brazil. Gillette Stadium has been contacted for comment.
