Sussex Police have issued an urgent public appeal for information following a serious sexual assault on a man in Lewes over the Christmas period.
Details of the Christmas Eve Incident
The victim, a man in his 30s, was sexually assaulted near Brook Street, close to Pells Pool in Lewes, East Sussex. Police report that the alleged rape occurred sometime between 10pm on Christmas Eve and 3am on Christmas Day.
A dedicated team of specialist officers is leading the investigation. The victim is currently receiving support from both police and professional care services as enquiries proceed.

Detective Inspector Gavin Patch stated that a diligent team is exploring all lines of enquiry. He sought to reassure the public while confirming an increased police presence in the Pells Pool and Brook Street areas, as well as other parts of Lewes including Eastgate Street and Lansdown Place.
The force is specifically appealing to anyone who was in the area on the evening of Christmas Eve into the early hours of Christmas Day. They are keen to hear from local residents and visitors alike.
"Members of the public can also play a vital role in helping us build a clearer picture of events," said DI Patch. "Were you in Lewes on Christmas Eve night and did you see anything suspicious? Do you have any footage from the area, or any information that could assist?"
