13-Year-Old Denies Attempted Murder of Two Pupils

A 13-year-old boy has pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder following a stabbing incident at a north-west London school. The attack, which occurred on February 10 at Kingsbury High School in Brent, allegedly involved the boy stabbing two male pupils in the neck—one inside a classroom and another in the playground. The incident took place in front of numerous children and a teacher.

Court Appearance and Legal Proceedings

During a plea and trial preparation hearing at the Old Bailey on Friday, the child confirmed his identity and entered a denial to both charges. The defendant, who cannot be named due to his age, appeared via video-link. Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb addressed the boy directly, acknowledging the complexity of the legal proceedings: “We have been talking about your case and I am afraid we haven’t always used straightforward language because we have been talking about some legal things which have to be covered in this kind of hearing.” She added, “The important thing is that you cooperate with your lawyers.”

Detention and Trial Date

The teenager was remanded into custody following the hearing. His trial is scheduled to commence on November 23. The case continues to draw attention to safety concerns at schools and the handling of serious incidents involving minors.
