New vision released by Nine News shows a dark Toyota SUV pulling into Northcott Street in North Ryde just before the abduction. The footage captures a man in high-visibility clothing emerging from the vehicle, followed by an accomplice. Moments later, the elderly man is seen being pushed across the landing as the car moves closer to facilitate the kidnapping.
Investigators have since located a burnt-out vehicle matching the description of the SUV involved in the incident, found nearby. However, police have not confirmed reports from the Daily Telegraph suggesting that a video has emerged showing Baghsarian tied up, maintaining focus on the active search.
Family's Distress and Police Appeal
Baghsarian's family, described by police as having no involvement in criminal activity, are deeply shocked and concerned by his abduction. Marks conveyed their distress, stating, "They're quite surprised that this has happened, and what they want is the safe return of their father."
In a direct appeal to the perpetrators, Marks urged, "Please release Mr Baghsarian. Take him to a hospital. Take him to somewhere that's safe, and we'll do the rest." The elderly man is believed to be a widower who has lived alone for nearly four years, adding to the vulnerability of his situation.
