Saturday Night Live writer Jimmy Fowlie's missing sister has been confirmed dead, he wrote in a heartbreaking social media post on Wednesday.

Fowlie, 40, who joined SNL's writing staff in 2022 and co-wrote the viral 'Domingo' sketch, said he last saw his sister, Christina Lynn Downer, 38, at the end of November.

In an update posted to his Instagram account on Wednesday, Fowlie wrote that his sister is 'no longer alive.'

'The LAPD has informed our family that Christina is no longer alive and the case has officially transitioned from a missing person to a homicide investigation,' he said in a statement.

'Our prayers for her to be found safely have transformed into prayers for the truth to be revealed and for those responsible to be held accountable.'

Fowlie expressed gratitude for the support received during the search and urged anyone with information to come forward.
