Schoolgirl Orchestrates Brutal Park Attack on 15-Year-Old Boy

A 15-year-old schoolgirl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been sentenced to seven years and four months in detention for her role in luring a teenage boy to a country park where he was subjected to a vicious attempted murder. The horrific attack occurred at Herrington Country Park in Sunderland last June, where the victim was stabbed eleven times and struck in the head with a rock by two older male accomplices.

Premeditated Ambush with Chilling Messages

Newcastle Crown Court heard disturbing details of the premeditated nature of the assault. In the days leading up to the incident, the attackers exchanged messages that included declarations such as "I'm defo stabbing him" and "he's f****** dead". They described the park as an "even better location for a killing" after a previous meeting failed when the victim did not appear.

The schoolgirl initiated the encounter by sending the victim a text suggesting they meet at the park. When he did not reply, she followed up with a plea of "please baby" to entice him. Upon confirming he was on his way and alone, she signaled to the two male teens who were hiding in nearby bushes, armed with a large knife.

Vicious Assault and Harrowing Aftermath

As the victim approached the girl at the meeting point, the two males emerged from their concealment. One repeatedly stabbed the boy while the other struck his head with a rock. During a brief pause in the violence, one attacker asked, "should I kill him?" The victim pleaded, "please don't kill me," but the assault resumed with three or four additional stabbings.

Miraculously, the victim managed to stagger through the park until he encountered a cyclist who called for emergency assistance. He suffered stab wounds across his body, required surgery and a skin graft, and continues to undergo physiotherapy. The injuries will leave him scarred for life.

Profound Psychological Impact on Victim

In a brave impact statement read aloud in court, the victim described how the attack has devastated his life. He can no longer participate in football or other activities he once enjoyed. "I'm not able to cook anymore because I'm scared of knives," he said. "It reminds me of seeing the large knife in his hand before he used it to stab me 11 times."

His sleep is plagued by recurring nightmares of the three attackers standing before him with a knife, replaying the traumatic event. His mother, who also delivered a statement, described arriving at the scene as "every parent's worst nightmare" and said, "The world felt evil" upon learning her son had been stabbed.

Sentencing and Judicial Remarks

Judge Robert Adams presided over the case, noting that the girl, otherwise described as "bright with ability and potential," had been assessed as posing a significant risk of serious harm to the public. He emphasized that she deliberately set up the meeting to lure the victim to a location where he could be killed, stating the custodial sentence was necessary for public protection.

The two male defendants pleaded guilty to wounding with intent. One, also deemed "dangerous," received a sentence of two years and ten months detention, while the other was given a 24-month detention and training order. All three defendants have no prior convictions and have cooperated with authorities since the attack.

The court heard that the assault stemmed from a falling out between the girl and the victim, with the park meeting intended to "sort out their differences." The girl is undergoing mental health assessments and has been progressing well with her education while on remand.
