PC Pamela Pritchard, 29, Fights to Keep Job After Drunken Rugby Club Groping Allegations
Police Officer Fights Sack Over Drunken Rugby Club Groping

A North Wales Police officer broke down in tears as she begged a disciplinary panel not to sack her over allegations she drunkenly groped colleagues and made lewd comments during a night out.

Allegations of Inappropriate Contact and Lewd Comments

PC Pamela Pritchard, 29, is accused of a series of inappropriate actions during a leaving party at Caernarfon Rugby Club in March 2024. The misconduct tribunal heard she allegedly put her hands on a male colleague's groin twice, an act he described as leaving him feeling 'humiliated'.

The hearing was told she also allegedly groped a female officer's breasts from behind and tried to kiss a male inspector, causing him to pull away. Witnesses stated Pritchard was slurring her words and had glazed eyes during the event.

One colleague, PC Simon Jarvis, said she repeatedly told him 'I want to f*** you' before calling him a 'p****' when he rejected her advances. Another officer, identified only as PC B, claimed she grabbed his genitals 'out of the blue' at the bar and later repeated the action in a smoking area, 'squeezing' them.

'I Am Not That Person': Officer's Emotional Defence

Pritchard, a mother-of-one who joined the force in 2023, gave an emotional testimony. 'I am really sorry. I am so sorry,' she cried, insisting the alleged gropes were not sexual and were, at most, accidental contact.

'My behaviour that evening was inappropriate. I've never acted like that before,' she stated. 'The statements and the CCTV that I have seen and heard, that's not who I am. I am not that person.'

She told the panel the accusations had left her feeling 'suicidal' and that she had let down the police force, her friends, family, and her young daughter. She apologised to PC Jarvis and Inspector Gareth Parry for the attempted kiss but said she had 'no recollection' of many events.

Contested Accounts and Hearing Continues

The tribunal was shown CCTV of Pritchard 'twerking' on the dance floor. She denied the allegations of gross misconduct and breaching professional standards. Her barrister, Fiona Clancy, suggested PC B had been 'teasing her and interfering in her love life' that night.

Pritchard was questioned by police but informed she would face no criminal charges. However, North Wales Police is pursuing gross misconduct proceedings, which could result in her dismissal. The officer, who was still in her probationary period, was suspended following the complaints.

The charges formally allege she made inappropriate physical contact without consent, used insulting language, and attempted an unsolicited kiss. The hearing, chaired by Assistant Chief Constable Chris Allsop at Colwyn Bay police headquarters, continues.
